Inappropriate?Configuration of conference rooms is handled at the server side. Pandion merely displays the generated form and submits it back. This sounds like the MUC settings are not being applied correctly at the server side. Which conference component are you using? (Openfire, Tigase, Ejabberd, Prosody, etc) Try asking advice in their support channels.
Unless of course Pandion is submitting the settings incorrectly. Open F12 and see what is being sent over the wire when you display and submit room settings. -
Inappropriate?that is correct, the room is set to disallow nickname changes.
But i can manage to connect with another nickname by doing this:
Start pandion, join conference room, change nick tralala. i see an error it is not permitted. i quit pandion. start pandion and whithout doing anything i join the room as tralala.
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Pandion\Profiles\<username>\settings.xml
in that file is a string <conferencenick>tralalala</conferencenick> i can change it to whatever i want.
and i'm just wondering if it is possible to keep the conferencenick the same at the first name nick.
if not i'll create a login batch that removes the C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Pandion\Profiles\<username>\settings.xml
so that nobody can change him/her nickname :)
thanks for the fast reply btw!

Inappropriate? That's just a client side preferences file. It has nothing to do with the conference room settings which are enforced by the MUC service on the XMPP server.

Inappropriate?ok, i was asuming that the client got around something like that. then i will take a look @ the openfire server if i can find more options for that.
Thank you very much for the help!
I’m thankful
