I've created a "Mellow" station, and have found that for the most part, songs that fit the mood I'm going for have a specific attribute, "Overall Meditative Sound".
So, my idea is that you should be able to create stations not just from songs/artists, but from attributes as well, so as to allow a better adherance to what one wants to hear.
Would be an easy thing to just have a merge stations feature. Just blend em up! Couldn't hurt to consider a "merge" stations button that could blend up 2 into 1!
Would save your company money/bandwith (same as money!) by allowing those of us that fall asleep to pandora to choose a sleep timer, instead of waiting for a timeout (says 5 hours, but i don't believe it, doesn't time out on iphone for me at all yet).
i love Pandora on my Blackberry however the lack af ability to "shelve" a song that i don't want to hear forces me to eat up my "fast forwards" and kills the experience as it means the same song keeps coming up.
In addition, i have discovered a lot of really cool new music that i really like but don't necessarily want in the playlist I’m currently on. i would love to "move to" another play list. without it I’m forced to simply "thumbs down" the some and forget about it =(
Long story short, I'm just looking to have the basic web interface capacities extended to the mobile application.
Become seemless with apples itunes - both the version on the ipod and the PC/mac - this way several things can be achieved - you can access how we rate songs - be able to deduce what other songs we like based on what songs we have in our library
and for the mobile version - i would be able to leave my apartment with pandora playing and walk out of wifi and not notice a difference as my itunes library picks up and as i walk back into wifi pandora would be working again and - once more - seemless integration - not notice a difference.
When i press any key on the desktop pandora (play/pause/skip) it opens a new browser and pandora starts playing on that browser too causing multiple pandora stations to play simultaneously... how can i stop this from happening?
It's just kind of inconvenient to have to close the window that pops up every time I try to bookmark something. I figure there's a good motive behind making it do that, but it's unnecessary. If I wanted to view my bookmarked songs, I would click on my profile link, and I wouldn't do that right when I bookmark a new one.
I accidentally (fingers too fast) requested a specific song title by the WRONG artist. How do I retrieve this error to avoid messing up my nicely tailored station? thanks in advance
It's really annoying that most of the links in Pandora seem to use popups that trigger my browser's popup blocker.
I just wanted to buy two albums (ooh here's another one I like). The link in the player tried to open a popup. Safari blocks popups; I don't think it's reasonable to tell me that I should turn off popup blocking in my browser just to use Pandora. The link "How to unblock popups" seemed to work just fine when it opened the help window; I don't get why most of the other links are doing all of this popup stuff, or why a link to the Amazon store isn't just a link opening a new browser window.
(From your side, this means that I just did the search on Amazon and you're not getting whatever cut of the sale you would have gotten. Bummer, because I'm happy to support such a great service.)
I stream Pandora in my home using an Airport Express unit and a program called Airfoil. I'd love to be able to use my iPhone as a remote to control Pandora on my PC (and to see album art, etc.), similar to the way the Apple Remote app for iPhone controls iTunes.
Is there any way to do this? Are there any plans to do this in the future? Thanks!
Google recently released its Contacts API (http://code.google.com/apis/contacts/) which allows the importing of google contacts to third party sites. It'd be great if pandora could use it to find friends who are using the Pandora service. Facebook has already implemented this feature for people to find friends on facebook. It's backed up by the security of google, so passwords and contact lists are safe!
allow for advertisments on various sites to have a link to a pandora advertisment station - good for bringing in people who might click on an advertisment that are not part of pandora already...the trick is to not distrub the browsing experience to much ( something pandora has to work on considering that when i book mark a song it simply opens up another window "please stop that its annoying") but its a feature that needs to experimented with - could be good for you tube advertisments and what not.
This seems to happen in any browser on any station. Pandora just randomly stops playing. Sometimes it goes for an hour or so other times it stops after one or 2 songs. I usually just close the browser and try again and hope that it lasts. Pandora says that they are aware of this problem and gave me some very technical solution that I just don't have time or desire to figure out:
[from the Pandora FAQ]
Q: What do I do if the current song doesn't finish playing, and a new one starts? What do I do if the music stops entirely in the middle of a song?
