Pandora Remote for iPhone?
I stream Pandora in my home using an Airport Express unit and a program called Airfoil. I'd love to be able to use my iPhone as a remote to control Pandora on my PC (and to see album art, etc.), similar to the way the Apple Remote app for iPhone controls iTunes.
Is there any way to do this? Are there any plans to do this in the future? Thanks!

Inappropriate? If you're on a Mac there's a nifty $0.99 app that claims to control Pandora and a whole lot more from your iPhone:
Rowmote

Inappropriate?@Greg, you still need to be able to see the screen in order to use rowmote as it doesn't actually stream a screen image of your desktop to your phone. Anyway this is an app I would be very happy to see if it ever came about.

Inappropriate? Here's another solution. You can signup for a free Logmein account (from their website). Next, download the Logmein app for iPhone. This works great, BUT the logmein app for the iPhone is $29. If you go this route, logmein provides the added benefit of being able to control your entire computer remotely from your iPhone (e.g., accessing other files).
It would be great if Pandora developed an iPhone app similar to Remote for iTunes. -
Inappropriate?Dear Pandora Team,
Please take this feature request seriously. There are currently only a few ways users can accomplish streaming Pandora to a home stereo or powered speakers while controlling Pandora with a remote control, but these are all $300 investments, e.g. Squeezebox.
I've loved being able to use my iPhone to control iTunes and pairing that with Airfoil to hear my music downstairs on my Klipsch pro media 2.0 powered speakers (a fantastic sounding and relatively cheap setup.) However, now that I've fallen in love with Pandora, I rarely want to use iTunes. So, the only thing standing in my way from a PERFECT music setup is $300 or the Pandora Team coming out with the feature to allow my iPhone to control the Pandora app streaming music to my home system.
Keep in mind, this is something you could easily charge for. (I'd pay for it!) Or better yet, make it free and use it to upsell users to the paid version. I can't tell you how many people are blow away when I show them how I can control itunes from my iphone while listening to music on the home stereo. -
Thanks for your astute comments and suggestions, Rence! I'll definitely pass your thoughts along to the team. Thanks for listening! :) Lucia -
Everyone has an iPhone / iPod at their home... these make perfect remotes. Enable a user to 'link' their pandora various players to their iPhone / iPod. Could become the complete home audio system. -
Could not have said it better myself. I use pandorajam but there's no way to control it from the iphone seamlessly so I can stream it through airport express. It would be awesome if this feature found its way to pandora natively, maybe in Pandora One, in which case I'll have my credit card ready. -
Inappropriate?I'll add my voice to the chorus. I've been using airfoil and its a great program, but as much as I love my iphone--apple's greed/control makes me wonder if they will ever allow a third party app that would compete directly with their itunes Genius...doubtful. As it is there is an iphone airfoil app...but it only allows you to stream to the speakers on the iphonem not the images..rather useless. Pandora is a wonderful thing...maybe Apple will relent - i just don't want Pandora to be absorbed into Apple.

Jay - there are apps for controlling Squeezebox, Sonos and other devices available from the app store. I too have been hoping for an app like this for more than a year now. I guess one of us will just have to write one... ( -
Inappropriate?I was wondering around the house with Pandora playing on my Macbook Pro, heard a great song I wanted to bookmark, and thought "I wonder if there is a Pandora remote-like app that would allow me to do this from my iPhone?". This is how I found this thread. This is a no-brainer for an app. If my iPhone Pandora app could detect that I'm logged in elsewhere, and tap into that "session", it could allow me to control what's playing in that "session". So, basically, I bring up the Pandora app on my iPhone, it detects that I currently have an active session (playing on my laptop, e.g.). If I do, it asks me if I want to "join" that session or start a new session. I join the current session playing on my laptop, and I can now control (through Pandora, not through IR or bluetooth or, etc) what's playing on my laptop Pandora session.
This app would be killer. -
Inappropriate? Here's a work-around solution, and a FREE one, for all of you until Pandora comes out with the app we're all hoping for:

Though not nearly as nice as a native app would/will be, you can at least forward songs, change the volume, etc. on your desktop via your iPhone with this application. Note: You'll need install a small application on your computer, as well as your iPhone.

Inappropriate?Check out Eos Wireless (eoswireless.com). The new Converge product allows you connect to your computer via USB and stream any audio from your computer (iTunes, Pandora, Last FM...) to any Eos receivers. It's a cool solution and works much better than Airport Express as it requires no network configuration. Eos also offers receivers with integrated amps and speakers, as well as one that will hook directly to your We have been waiting for Pandora and the rest of the internet radio providers to provided a remote application like the iTunes remote application. I had contacted Pandora via telephone and had a long conversation with them and got nowhere. We all need to keep banging on their door and tell them that this is something that we want!
