The Code Completion in Coda works beautifully. However, when editing CSS within an HTML document (which happens sometimes) the CSS completion does not kick in (obviously because I am in an HTML doc). I understand - but it sure would be sweet if Coda could recognize the style block and offer completion for CSS within that block.
I am really digging Coda - especially for a 1.0 app, but one oversight (IMO) is a site-wide find and replace. I have purchased Coda but I really wish I didn't have to switch to another tool to do this routine task.
I've built up quite a nice little toolchain customized for me in TextMate, not to mention that I rely on many other people's bundles too. There is a barrier for me to move away from the awesomeness that is TextMate, and it would mean that Coda would have to be amazingly better to prompt a switch.
That barrier would be much lower if I could import my bundles into Coda. You should enable it.
It would be really useful for writing copy if you implemented familiar shortcut keys for formatting copy quickly such as highlighting text and applying <strong> with Apple+B or <em> with Apple+I (similar to Textmate)
Is there any way to automatically upload changes as you save files to a site? I'm used to Dreamweaver's functionality of automatically uploading on save, and it's something I dearly miss in Coda! I know it's only an extra click or two to 'publish' the files, but I'd like for this to be automatic if possible!
Ok, so I had one other hope for an addition to Coda.
I wish there was a more designer friendly Subversion client for the mac and seeing what Panic did in the realm of text editors with Coda, I think this would be a beautiful add-on for those intimidated by the Terminal.
Would there be any way we could get task tag processing for files? That way, I could create a comment like
//TODO: Write validation code here
and it would go into the symbols pane marked as a task? I think TODO, FIXME and XXX would be good default items, and they could all probably share an icon
One of the things that I would like to see in Coda is to have a search and replace within the selected text. As a developer, in can be helpful sometimes to have a method to only perform a search and replace within a block of code, rather than a whole file.
One of my most used applications outside of Coda when developing is the Console...and the constant Command+tabbing gets a little tedious when I'm debugging an application.
Could you possibly look at adding a logfile viewer, so that I get to keep my development in Coda instead of bouncing in and out?
I, like many other people, have had enough of Adobe's Mac policy and general bloatednes and crappy performance. The Mac web development community needs you to do the same you did with Coda vs. Dreamweaver, but with Fireworks.
There truly is no real alternative to Fireworks' great mix of vector and bitmap tools. Photoshop not is only is bloated, but doesn't really do what web designers need.
We need you here, guys. There's nobody else we can trust for this work.
I tried the latest Dreamweaver CS3 and they have a nice code collapsing feature to eliminate the painful scrolling that happens when your code gets bulky and long.
Would love to see this implemented in the next release.
I really love Coda and I'd love to replace TextMate as much as possible.
I work a lot with XML files that happen to have no line separators ; when I try to open these inTextMate, it just keeps hanging in a loop and processes itself to death. Coda handles this situation much better: no crash, no hanging, it just switches off Syntax Highlighting. I absolutely appreciate that kind of intelligence - it makes software feel more human and less stupid.
Also, I love how replacing text in large documents like these is done with an event loop; Coda doesn't just hang-and-replace, I can actually cancel the replace. Very well done, really - I have a lot of respect for that!
Hello!
I have placed an order a couple of days ago but I haven't heard back from anyone since that. I've paid with PayPal after e-mailing Mike (my Ticket ID is [1295269]).
I've been a rabid fan ever since the first version of Audion, and I think Transmit is the best damn FTP app on the planet. You guys rock my socks off, and I just had to tell you. Hooray for Panic!
