Coda should manage databases!
It would be really great if Coda was able to manage databases, like integrating that mac app "Sequel Pro" which I think is opensource. Then I wouldn't have to have that open all the time, to manage my databases.
Thanks for a great product!

Inappropriate?I know where you're coming from. It's one of those big, slippery-slope kinds of ideas though, so it's something we need to think really about if it belongs in Coda and if so, how it should be dealt with. But we are aware that a lot of Coda users are also managing databases.

Inappropriate?i think incorporating these sort of things into coda would make it too bloated
however a nice database gui app from panic would be awesome

Inappropriate?I like the idea, however I'm worried about how bloated Coda would become with this. Personally, I'm fine using Sequel Pro on its own. Coda is not a complete development environment. There are many web development environments (starts with a D) that try to do it all and fail pretty miserably, drying to be a jack of all trades. Sure, the purpose of Coda is to be one window development, but I think there should be a reasonable cap on what kind of scope that provides. I think being a database manager is outside of this scope.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? This is the sort of thing it'd be great if the plugin architecture could support; it's probably not worth it in the default case to include this functionality, but the ability for those users who want it to be able to add it in would be fantastic.
I'm guessing the envisaged workflow would be an additional toolbar button with per-site configuration (similar to how you can open and configure a terminal or preview).

Inappropriate? For me it would be enough to have the ability to associate some bookmarks with specific sites. That way I can at least have a bookmark to phpMyAdmin for Site A when I'm "in" Site A.
Another suuuuuper awesome feature would be simple notes for each site. Just a place to write down information which pertains to that site. Things like control panel URL and login info. -
Inappropriate?I'd like to second Bern's idea for a simple note field in the Sites setup. I just counted 78 different Sites in my Sites area. Sometimes you end up with duplicates for a site... like when you're in the interim period between old servers and new servers. Some way to keep track of various goings-on would be helpful.
Thanks.
