Announcing Panopto CourseCast 2.2
All,
Panopto recently released CourseCast 2.2 to new and existing service contract subscribers. For those who haven't yet upgraded or are still using CourseCast 2.1 Core, here are some of the major features in CourseCast 2.2 that might interest you:
* Panopto Recorder for Mac - CourseCast 2.2 brings our recording capability to Mac users, offering audio/video capture, PowerPoint and Keynote support, and high-resolution screen capture.
* Scheduled Recordings - In addition to user-initiated recordings, CourseCast now supports automatic scheduled recordings that begin without input from the presenter. Any Windows computer that can run the Panopto Recorder can act as a scheduled recorder, and all PowerPoint presentations and on-screen activities will be recorded automatically. Administrators can manage and monitor scheduled recordings across an entire campus from a single web browser.
* Advanced Podcasting - CourseCast now creates MP4 podcasts that mix video, audio, slides, and screen captures automatically for a first-class mobile viewing experience.
* Offline Viewer - Thanks to our vocal users, it's now possible to download Panopto presentations and watch them offline with the same rich playback experience as our existing in-browser player.
* LMS Integration - CourseCast 2.2 now integrates tightly with the Blackboard LearnTM Platform as well as the open-source Moodle LMS platform. These LMS plug-ins automatically publish new recordings to course pages, allow administrators to populate LMS courses into CourseCast with a few mouse clicks, and even let LMS users sign on to CourseCast with their existing LMS credentials.
* Recorder "Pause" button - You asked for it, we built it. Now you can pause while recording, and if you pause by mistake you can even go back and recover your content.
