Inappropriate?Dave,
Make sure that you install Windows Media Services. See below for the documentation for installing on server 2008:
http://support.panopto.com/Version/2....
It's a pre-requisite.along with the other items listed below.
Pre-Installation Software Requirements:
* Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
o If installing PowerPoint 2007 only, install all Office Shared Features and Office Tools.
* Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0
o Enable ASP.NET Applications
o Enable FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions
* Windows Media Services (WMS) 2008 - Download from Microsoft
* Windows Server 2008 Desktop Experience
* Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 - Download from Microsoft
* Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express (Advanced Services Service Pack 2) - Download from Microsoft
o Advanced configuration options...
o Install Full Text Services
o Install SQL Server Management Studio
Thanks,
Dave -
Inappropriate?I followed the installation instructions explicitly. WMS has been downloaded and installed, see attached image. Installed the 2.0 product without a problem, installed 2.1 on a new server and had the error, wiped the server clean and did the install again - Same error.
Server is 2008 x64. Installed the x64 version of all components, when available, like with WMS. All windows updates have been applied.
Is there a way to make the installer ignore the error and complete the installation?

Inappropriate?Dave,
I checked with our development team and the issue is with our installer working on 2008 64 bit. That's what is causing the issue. Can you install a 32 bit OS?
Thanks,
Dave -
Inappropriate?I can for now. Do you know if this is something they plan on fixing? Soon?
Thanks for your help. -
Inappropriate?Dave,
We're working on it and we expect to have a solution soon. If you would go with one our support plans, we could accelerate this for you.
Thanks,
Dave
