Setting default permissions for recordings
Is it possible to set default permissions for recordings within a class/folder so that they can be viewed/edited only by one particular student plus the instructor?
For example, each student in a class would be able to see their own recordings, but not those of the other students. It seems that by default everyone can see everyone else's recordings.
There does appear to be a way to set an ACL on the course/folder that each recording would inherit. This would allow the instructor to access all student recordings, but would not help with the default permissions on new recordings.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Inappropriate?Hi Andrew,
At the moment, there is no built-in way to do this. It is possible to have individual sessions override the folder-level permissions, but this would really only affect viewing rights and, if students have "creator" access to the course, could be overridden.
Another school took a different approach: each student was given his or her own folder, and the instructors were added as creators to all student folders. This will give you the right permission scheme at a cost of increased set-up time. If you are doing this as a pilot, that should fit the bill for now and give you an opportunity to see whether this model is something you want to use in the future.
We don't have immediate plans to add this sort of rights model, but I will file a bug and we will start investigating our options for our next release. If you'd like to discuss further, please let me know.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Andy,
Sorry for the confusion here. Eric is actually correct. I misread your initial e-mail and thought you were just look to set ACL's per folder and inherit down to the session and not the other way around.
