Video capture choices with HDMI question
Anyone have any experience using either the Black Magic IntensityPro Video Capture Card or the Matrox MXO2 Capture Box? I have a camcorder with HDMI output and would like to capture without downgrading the video signal.

Inappropriate?Hi Randy,
I've never used Matrox capture hardware, but in my experience BlackMagic makes good equipment. I've used one of their component HD capture cards, but never HDMI. The WDM drivers and DirectShow support were fairly solid and you are likely to get good results. However, please be aware that you won't be able to use HD capture as primary video - right now, the recorder assumes that sources above SD resolution are intended to be secondary sources (like chalkboard cameras, VGA capture, and document cameras).
If you'd like to discuss options for primary stream capture in HD, please email support@panopto.com and we can set up a call.
Thanks,
Eric
