What kind of reports would Administrators like to be available from the server?
We would like statistics from the server regarding the files Viewers are accessing. How many hours (minutes?) within a given date range have the students viewed any particular lecture or Course? How many unique 'hits'? etc. What other reports should be valuable?

Inappropriate?Hi Pete,
Thanks for starting this! I'm actually making the rounds with this exact question. We're building our analytics features now with the intent of being able to show the following data:
* How many users viewed a specific recording, and when?
* Of those viewers, which ones were logged in, and who were they?
* Reporting over date ranges
Right now, we're trying to decide whether it's a must-have or a nice-to-have for granularity finer than "unique views". It's considerably more work to track how much of a given recording a student has viewed, so we'd love any input from the community on this.
Thanks!

Eric,
The current statistics that are offered in 2.1 are relevant and I can't think of any I would like to add. However, they would be much more useful if they could be extracted in some way. Have you considered providing an option for download?
In addition to usage statistics we're interested in how institutions go about assessing or evaluating the use of CourseCast.

Inappropriate?I'd like them easier accessed - have them by course and date. And have the default show all of them instead of just a few. And have an option to show by date as well as the 'top 100.' Now, when I compile the stats - there is a lot of clicking involved. An export function would be great as well.
And place the length of the lecture more prominent - rather than burying it in the details section.
The main thing we are tracking is viewing time my lecture and date, and recording time of lectures. Individual faculty are tracking viewing time by student and lecture.
It would also be nice - for faculty - to select a student and see the minutes of each lecture they have watched - rather than clicking through each lecture.
Wish list. -
Inappropriate?Thanks guys, I've filed these requests in our bug database. We'll take a look at what we can get away with as we start planning for 3.0.

Inappropriate?SInce a lot for us is now turning on reporting, access and viewership data can be critical. Since the system is running on IIS and delivering windows media content, as we launch we will likely use webtrends, geotrends and streaming reports as part of the admin side of the house.
