Inappropriate?Robin, I was able to get it to play no problem.
Could you please walk me through what you did to encounter the problem step-by-step?
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I noticed yesterday that it might not be a miro specific problem. the same problem suddenly appeared in vlc, too. I was able to eliminate this problem by switching the settings of the video-output under Preferences->Preferences->Video->Outputmodule from Standard to OpenGL.
So I assume s.th. changed the standard output (maybe tweakUI, which I recently installed). Is there a way in Miro to do the same as I did in vlc?
thanks for your help :)

Inappropriate?Yes. Copy over your vlcrc file from VLC to Miro. Walkthrough available in the wiki.

The walkthrough appears to be missing. I have had this problem every upgrade, and now copying the vlcrc file over does not work, and I cannot roll back the version because the database was upgraded and incompatible. I may just be forced to give up on Miro. Too bad, it's a nice program - when it works. -
Which version of VLC did you copy the vlcrc file from? Miro 2.0.1 uses VLC 0.9.8a, -
I was using VLC 0.8.6e, but just downloaded 0.9.8a and have the same problem. I also get an error message shortly after quitting Miro, standard Windows "Miro.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." -
Inappropriate?the problem was that some program set the hardware acceleration of my graphic card to full. Thanks for your help folks!
I’m happy

Just for future reference, what video card / software drivers did this happen with? -
I own an IBM T43 - the its an ATI graphic card -
Inappropriate?Hi
I have the same problem but the solution above did not fix it
I also have an ATI graphic card and I managed to get VLC running correctly but miro still does not work
Does anyone have an idea?
(PS: I have XP and the most recent versions of the driver and of VLC and Miro)
I’m sad

Pip: Maybe this will help.
