Can Miro share channel data on a dual boot PC?
I'm running a PC with both XP and Vista. I spend more time using XP for browsing, working and gaming but I like to use Vista for Media Center, BD/HD DVD playback, etc.
Since I use XP more often, I thought about running Miro in the background to download video feeds so that I could watch them in Vista (since it's configured to output to my LCD TV). After exporting the channels from XP and importing them into Miro on the Vista boot, I was sad to find out the green ovals for each of my channels didn't show me the same information as I saw in XP! (e.g. Tekzilla shows me 2 unwatched videos in XP but the same channel in Vista doesn't show that; instead, it shows how many videos are available in the channel)
Is there a way to have Miro running on one OS and then having the same data appearing on another OS?
Thanks for reading and helping!

Inappropriate?I would guess it's very possible, but not very easy or obvious to do so at that...

Inappropriate?I am dual booting XP and Ubuntu, and I want to do the same thing, and have found exactly the same problem as you.
I had a go at fixing it in the same way that people can use the same Firefox profile across multiple operating systems. LIke Firefox and Thunderbird, Miro as a "profiles.ini" file.
So, I installed Miro in Ubuntu, and edited the profiles.ini file to point to my XP Miro's profile folder. However, it didn't work.
After some more detailed investigation, I discovered it was because the directory and file structure of a Miro profile in Linux is totally different to the structure of Miro profile in Windows! This is not the case for Windows and Linux versions of other Mozilla based applications.
Therefore, I think what is needed is for Miro profiles to be standardised across all platforms.
In the meantime, I have no other solution. So I am going to have to have Miro installed on both operating systems, and download all my programs twice, one for each operating system. Hardly an elegant solution!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Wow, I never did something like that in Firefox, but I use e-mule and torrents in both OS in a similar way.
It would be great if Miro too could streamline profiles directory to be common across platforms.
