Does Miro use only Bittorent type downlods?
Does Miro use a Bittorrent type protocol for everything, or is there a choice between bittorrent and different types of files? The reason I'm asking what may be such a stupid thing is that I'm on a college campus, and if they detect torrenting going on, I am liable to lose the internet service that I had to pay a bit extra for.

Inappropriate?Miro doesn't make the choice - we download what is offered by the feed, http or torrent. We do note in the items File Type if they are a .torrent or not. So you can choose whether or not to download.
It is unfortunate that you are restricted from downloading torrents. There are a lot of high quality, legal feeds that use bittorrent for distribution. legaltorrents.info and Democracy Now! are some examples in case you want to argue the point.
