Filter Channels and Videos by language?
I've been experimenting with using Miro to pick up training videos on products like Photoshop, Final Cut Pro etc.
However the search results cover all (spoken) languages. Sadly as a classic English speaker i'm not going to be able to make sense of tutorials in non-English languages.
I would like the ability to filter the channel lists and search results by preferred language, and have the default language set as a tool option.
Does this capability exist, and i've just been missing it? If not, this would be a very worthwhile enhancement for me.

Inappropriate? In the miro guide you can browse by languages.
-
Inappropriate?Hmm, really? I can't see this as an obvious option in the Guide. I've also searched the help (this site) using the term "language" but not found much on this subject, other than this question!
Where is this feature in the Guide? I deleted some default channels when I first ran Miro, did i delete an index by language without realising it?
A settable preference for a filter language, and the option to allow or override the "lang=XXXXX" filter in channle or Video searches would still seem like a useful enhancement. -
Inappropriate?https://miroguide.com/ or in miro the first item in the list. In the top navigation you can select languages and browse - but no search only in the selected languages. What I would expect that if I browse in one languages the search button only searches in this subgroup and not in all channels.

Hmm, at the moment selecting the first item in the list gives me a blank page with a "Home" button. Selecting the Home buttn gives me a page that's blank apart from the text "about:blank". Something'd clearly broken at the moment. -
Inappropriate?Have you tried it only in miro or in a "normal" web browser? Miro is embedding the webbrowser and maybe it only doesn't work in the embedded browser right now.
-
Inappropriate? It's working ok in Firefox. Hmm I see. Miro uses the Internet Explorer network settings, and (like IE) doesn't notice if the automatic proxy configuration script returns new proxy settings. Annoying, but this is common to apps that embed the IE rendering engine it seems.
Thanks. Now I need to works out why all the "normal" Windows aps, including Miro, are failing to play videos properly, but Quicktunes works fine...
I agree about searching under a chosen language, but I think an explicit filter in the search function would be good. Other filters (allow/disallow explicit content etc.) could also be available.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Great idea - I'm sure there are fold out there who would like to exclude English from their search.
