I play downloaded torrents (avi, wmv) & get audio but no video: same results with the intro video from your site.

Inappropriate?A few things that may help:
http://www.getmiro.com/documentation/...
I ran into this issue with VLC - the open source video player which Miro uses ~ no video would display (although audio was fine) on the HDTV hooked up through the HDMI output on the AMD 780G "Gigabyte" motherboard, however it would display fine on DVI or VGA. Turning off "overlay video output" in the VLC settings>preferences>Video>generalvideosettings would solve the issue.
Seems that the 780G has issues with hardware decoding on the secondary monitor and by disabling the overscan it would force VLC to use software decoding "although slower and more resource intensive".
Good luck.

thanks for the reply. i've seen a lot of posts in this forum forr VLC soltuions to Miro issues, but how do you access the embedded VLC Miro uses to apply these solutions? -
Inappropriate? There's probably a simpler way, but what I did was install VLC on it's own: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
This installed the player and codecs. Then I used the VLC player to run a typical video file (Xvid for example). I then changed the preferences to deselect the overlay video output. Restart VLC and try the same file again.
Get the file going with the main VLC player.
If it works now in VLC, follow the instructions in the link above to copy the VLC preference file "vlrc" and then paste it into the right folder for Miro to use when it opens VLC. Now Miro will be using the same preferences that the standalone VLC player used.
If this doesn't work, you'll need to provide more info about your system: Motherboard (chipset), Video card, drivers updated?, OS (updated?), display type (secondary monitor?), audio output (speakers attached to computer or through HDMI?), video connection (DVI? VGA?) Does the video play in windows media player and not VLC?
Check out the VLC forums for more info on this issue as well.
Good luck again.
