How do I preserve Miro through a format & OS reinstall?
I regularly reinstall Windows, and Miro always proves to be the biggest pain of all my apps. I keep all my data (including Miro's video directory) on a separate drive from my OS.
What do I need to backup to keep my video subscriptions, settings, etc, intact? I don't know what files I need to backup...
(Currently running Windows 7 RC)

Inappropriate?Settings are stored in a preferences file and video subscriptions and all that data is stored in the database. So to migrate Miro stuff from one machine to another, you need to copy those files.
There's no easy way to copy things from one machine to another. If your destination is not also a Windows 7 RC machine with the same user account, then this probably won't work without some futzing.
Start up Miro on the old machine. Then go to the menus and choose Help -> Diagnostics.
Click on the "Show" button on the "Movies location" line. That will open up Windows Explorer in the directory with all your media files and incomplete downloads. Copy that directory verbatim to the same exact place on the new machine.
Click on the "Show" button on the "Database file location" line. That will open up Windows Explorer in the directory with the Miro configuration and database files. Copy that directory verbatim to the same place on the new machine.
If you have a lot of extra space, I'd make copies of both directories. That way if Miro doesn't startup correctly, you have backups of things to retry with.
If you do that, I'm pretty sure things will work. If it doesn't, let me know. I don't remember offhand where Windows 7 stores things and whether the user application settings directories are the same between the same user account on two different Windows 7 installations or not. If it's not, then this probably won't work.
