Limit on torrent downstream speed doesn't work
I'm running Miro 1.2.3-rc1 (r6757) on Ubuntu 8.04 (installed through http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/pculture.or... repository).
The program works well, apart from torrent downstream speed, that I apparently cannot limit.
In Video menu / Options / Download / Bittorrent I enabled the checkbox and I set a speed but Miro doesn't respect that and it often "maxes out my bandwidth" (= I don't have any more bandwidth available).
I think that this happened also with previous Miro releases and on different Ubuntu installations.
I'm not sure about torrent upstream speed.
Thanks in advance :)

Inappropriate?Sounds like you may have found a bug. It's best if you file a full report at: http://bugzilla.pculture.org/

Inappropriate?Dean, I checked existing bug reports and I realize now that the problem may be different than I thought.
I'm subscribed to a dozen channels, but I'm not sure if Miro is using Bittorrent to download them...maybe they are all HTTP and I am actually dealing with known bug http://bugzilla.pculture.org/show_bug... (that is, no way to limit HTTP downloads speed)?
I'm currently subscribed to
http://www.channelfrederator.com/rss
http://feeds.boingboing.net/boingboin...
http://feeds.rapidfeeds.com/12143
four YouTube channels and a few others.
Should I clear all my subscriptions, choose some known bittorrent files and download them to check if speed limits are still being ignored? Should I subscribe to some known channels (which ones?).
I'm still sure that Miro uses too much bandwidth, but now I'm confused about the root of the problem and I don't want to create a duplicate or wrong bug report.
Please let me know. Thanks :-) -
Inappropriate?Ah yeah, that's right -- the only one of those feeds that has any torrents in it is the Free Culture (rapid feeds) one.
