Media keys (back, stop, play-pause, forward) don't work
The media keys on laptops don't control Miro in Ubuntu Linux 9.04 (and perhaps in other OSes; I saw a complaint about this in Windows7)
I am on Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit with the latest version of Miro. When I use the media keys on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (which are recognized by every other application in Ubuntu) Miro does not respond (except for volume, which is OS controlled)
As pedantic as it sounds, I hate using the mouse for media control.

Inappropriate? If you could research what the keycodes are and submit a patch, that'd be great!

Inappropriate?Unfortunately I'm not a programmer, but I happen to know that media keys return a generic reply handled by Ubuntu... But I don't know the key codes... And I don't know how to find them out...

Fair enough. Maybe someone who does programming can come to our rescue. In the meantime, I created a feature request to track it:

Inappropriate? The keycodes generate the generic media events, XF86Stop, etc etc. Do you want the xev output? If no one else is available to implement it, I could give it a shot, though only if the code is in c/c++. What's involved in trying to submit a piece of code?
