Miro 1.2.1 Crashes on startup under Mandriva Linux 2008.1
Sorry if this is a dupe. The website is, umm, innovative.
Just installed Miro ver. 1.2.1-1mdv on my HTTPC box running Mandriva Linux 2008.1 (kernel 2.6.24.7). On startup, I'm getting a crash.
Here is the CLI output:
WARNING Error setting up HTTP observer
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/miro/platform/frontends/html/MainFrame.py:376: GtkWarning: gtk_type_unique: assertion `g_type_from_name (gtkinfo->type_name) == 0' failed
displayBox.add(newDisplay.getWidget(area))
** (miro.real:11745): CRITICAL **: void gtk_moz_embed_get_nsIWebBrowser(GtkMozEmbed*, nsIWebBrowser**): assertion `GTK_IS_MOZ_EMBED(embed)' failed
/usr/bin/miro: line 3: 11745 Segmentation fault LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.13 miro.real "$@"
I edited /usr/bin/miro to reflect my current Firefox version (3.0.8) but it didn't help.
Any idea how I can remedy this?
Thanks.

Inappropriate?That's an old version of Miro and it was probably not compiled against the version of xulrunner you're using hence the segfault.
You should see if you can find newer packages of Miro for Mandriva and then try those out. -
Inappropriate?Thank you Will. I suspect a newer package is not likely to appear. I may see if I can't build it from source.
I appreciate the tip.
