Inappropriate?can you try to save your database, uninstall and reinstall. Be sure to clean out your C:\\Program Files\Partici.... dir - that looks like a 1.2.8 errro.
https://develop.participatoryculture.... - is for a full cleanup. Save your db if you don't want to lose your feeds.

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Thank you JED, will do as you suggest, but I'm afraid not for my feeds which i backed up, I'm worried i might loose the 80 gigs video order in miro, i know that the files will not be harmed, but what about all my miro stations with 40 of more videos already downloaded?, (miro follows beautify which file was downloaded or not).
thanks again for your help -
Inappropriate?I love miro, but that 2.0 upgrade killed all the info on what was already downloaded, 80 gigs to sort manually or download again.
Never the less, thank you Jed for your support and thanks for that grate open source application.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? How do I find the database? (Which file is it?) I have a similar problem, but miro fails silently, instead of with error messages.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?Did you backup the database before upgrading?
If not, miro upgrades the database and older versions of miro won't open it, but I'm not sure if miro takes another directory for the 2.0 version on windows - in the linux version it's .miro for both versions. If they use different folders you can reuse your latest 1.2.x database.
If the miro 2.0 errors are not yet resolved you may use an older backup of your database and downgrade to the previous running version of miro - that would be better than loosing all meta data for you videos and starting from scratch. -
Inappropriate? Was I given the option to backup the database before upgrading? NO!
As far as I can tell the upgrade went fine, but the program crashes on startup.
I want to try saving my database and re-installing, if some one can tell me where it should be located on windows. (I understand where it is on Linux, but that doesn't help me in windows.)
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? The database location is described here
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for helping out Pan — much appreciated.
To anyone who is loosing data here, we apologize — it's really lame to have an application mess up your collection of videos, songs, whatever. We're working towards more general stability, and will also have better tools for recovering from this type of incident, but it looks like we still have a ways to go.
At this point, we'd like to get as much information as possible about your individual incidents — it will help us make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Thanks again for your patience and feedback.
I’m sorry, data loss is not any fun at all :(
