after i followed the instructions to install miro on Linux I cannot find it. How do I start miro on ubuntu?

Inappropriate?There was a bit of a delay there, sorry about that. I found out how to add items to the menu.
Yes, I installed from the package manager.
It was installed correctly but no entry appeard in the main menu (using ume-launcher on EeePC901. By selecting Main Menu from the Preferences screen I was able to add the item to the Sound @ Video screen
