Recently updated Miro, now it won't play FLV files.
I am using Mac OSX and I recently updated Miro (March 9th, 2009). After updating, my .flv files will not play. I open them, and Miro runs, but there is no video playback. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and it is continuing to malfunction.
It's not a huge deal, but Miro was an excellent player and I hope to be able to keep using it.
Any ideas?

Inappropriate?I'm pretty sure this is the problem Ben checked in a fix for today. I'm in the process of testing it out and we should have a 2.0.3 release tomorrow or Friday.

Hey, Will...love Miro...not sure what happened after this last update, though. It won't play any outside files, the "open" tab is broken, and it crashed Firefox three times trying to download the set up software. Hope you guys fix it soon, as I have the 2.0.3., and would like to get back to using it again. -
Inappropriate?Alden: To clarify what you said, you're saying:
1. Firefox crashed multiple times trying to download Miro 2.0.3, and
2. the "Open" menu item in Miro 2.0.3 won't play items that Miro isn't managing
Is that what you're saying? -
Yes to both questions, Will! -
Inappropriate?Safari downloads the 2.03 update just fine.
And make sure you go to the website, click the Download tab,
and then go to that download page to get it. If you
try and use the front page (getmiro.com) green button
in firefox, it will cause v.3.06 of Firefox to crash.
I'm downloading v. 3.0.7 now to see if this corrects the issue.
Also, while were at it, updating v. 2.0.2 on PPC Tiger 10.4.11,
to version 2.0.3,
causes Miro to display a "Unexpected error occurs" when
click the download button in the "Miro version 2.0.3 is here"
update window.
Going to Safari and downloading the update as stated above
and then running it correctly updates it.
However, the guide, which was fixed in 2.02 on PPC,
is now broken again on ( *SIGH*) on version 2.0.3 on PPC.
Guess that'll be fixed in 2.0.4?
:-)
I'm submitting a bugzilla for it now..... -
Inappropriate?never mind on the bugzilla. Quitting Miro and then re-launching it,
brought back the Guide on PPC 10.4.11.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Terryj: I don't understand the comments you made. Are you saying:
1. if you use Firefox 3.0.6 on PPC Tiger 10.4.11, go to http://getmiro.com/ and click on the green download button, that Firefox 3.0.6 crashes.
2. if you use Safari, go to http://getmiro.com/, click on the Download tab, then click on the green download button on that page, it downloads fine.
Is that right?
What happens if you use Firefox 3.0.6 with the green button on the downloads tab? What happens if you use Safari and the green button on http://getmiro.com/ ? Do either of these work?
Also what does "the guide... is now broken again" entail? Does it not load? Are you seeing HTTP 404 or 500 errors? Does it cause Miro to crash? -
Inappropriate?Daniel: I have exactly the same problem but it is occuring on a PC. Same feeling too.
I’m supposed to run the programs, not the other way around.
-
Inappropriate?w.olive: What version of Miro are you using?
-
Inappropriate?@ will
#1. Yes that is what I am saying.
#2. Yes, that is what I am saying.
I don't know the answer about Firefox 3.06, because I updated it to
3.0.7, and now the green button on the homepage works fine.
PPC, 10.4.11, 1.5gb of ram.
As for the guide errors, Under version 2.0 the guide would load just blank,
No 404 or 500 errors, just blank. White . page.
JED was helping me with this I posted a bugzilla on it
( search for 11541)
but it is now fixed as I stated above on 2.0.3, after installing it and restarting
the PPC mac. It now displays properly each time Miro 2.0.3 is launched.
under v. 2.0, it constantly remained a white. blank. page.
