Search own videos and integrate into miro?
How can I let Miro search and find my own videos I have on my pc, so that they get imported into miro? I would like to have an folder in miro, in which all my own videos are included.

Inappropriate? The first-run installation prompt asks exactly this...so I guess the simplest solution would probably be to just back-up your current subscription list (channels menu bar) and then do a re-install.
Alternatively, depending on your OS you might be able to do a system search for .mov or .avi and import them that way -- really depends on what you feel most comfortable doing.

Inappropriate?Under the File -> Preferences (Options for os x and gtk/x11) you can click to the Folders tab.
Browse to the path where your vidoes are and Miro will search for video items in that directory and 1 level below. -
miro asked me to search for my video's, i answered yes and thought that Miro would create a list easily clickable on its opening window, so that i can easily find them (they are in many different folders together with the subject, tekst, powerpoint etc they are about) -
Inappropriate? How do I load files off my hard drive into the Miro library? It didn't do this after searching at the install. I can't find preferences in Miro to look on my hard drive.

Inappropriate?I too searched on install and it failed to place a single movie in the library despite finding at least some. My movies are in various folders across 2 hard drives so going through and individually adding every folder that contains movies is not a practical solution.

Inappropriate?that was a known bug w/ 1.2.8 that is since fixed w/ 2.0. I recommend trying rc1 from http://pculture.org/nightlies. However - you would have to do an uninstall / reinstall to get the first time startup dialog.
Also 2.0 searches recursively through an added watched folder (plus finds audio) - so it would be easier now to find all your data.
