The sound is ok, but nothing to see
I downloaded Miro and it looks great. The sound is great, but the screne is black.

Inappropriate?Dean: I see this problem & am running Windows XP SP3. If I open the videos in external applications, I have no problems.
I’m annoyed, but use a workaround (external app)

To be honest, I've only downloaded a handful of things on the last few versions of Miro and they all have the same problem. I have been trying out this app since way back when it was called DTV & Democracy Player & I don't remember ever seeing this before.
I have no problem opening any of the videos in other apps, including Media Player Classic Homecinema (build 1.2.908.0), VLC (0.9.9), Quicktime (7.6.2(515)).
I have 4 GB RAM and an ATI FireGL 7200. I'm going to update the drivers for the video card to the latest available, since I'm currently running drivers from 12/2008. If that fixes it, I'll make another post.
Anything in particular you'd like me to profile on this machine for you?

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem on a relatively new PC (XP SP3). I see/hear videos in other apps fine but can only hear them in Miro.1 Comment

Inappropriate?well, I've updated miro to 2.5.1 (r9904) & updated video drivers to the latest & the videos are now playing in miro.
i wish i would've checked after installing the video drivers & before upgrading miro, but everything seems to be working well now.

Inappropriate?When you say you updated video drivers I assume you mean the drivers for your video card. If so what are you using? Did you do anything different with video codecs? I have the full KLite Code Pack installed.
I installed 2.5.2 (r9904) and still have no video. I have a PNY 9600 GSO running nVidia 6.14.11.8250 (March 2009). -
Inappropriate?Okay, just updated nVidia drivers (current 7/2009) and still NO video. By the way that should be Miro 2.5.1 (r9904).
Does the KLite Code Pack cause issues?

Inappropriate?Yes, I was referring to updating the video card drivers and also miro itself. I have not updated or changed any codecs installed in windows.
My video card is an Ati FireGL V7200.
Not sure about KLite Codec Pack as I do not have that installed. Have you tried uninstalling that & rebooting to see if it clears up? *shrug*
