Watch Folders Limited to 1 Directory Deep? No Additional Recursion?
I have a "TV" folder with various collections of TV shows, each of which are sorted by "season". For example, /media/TV/Family\ Guy/Season1. When I set Miro to watch the "TV" folder, it only finds files contained one directory deep. I've searched extensively and am unable to find any explanation for this behavior. Either it's a bug, or by design. If it's by design, why?

Inappropriate?It's by design.
I remember complaining about Democracy Player trashing my system while it tried to generate thumbnails and extract info from thousand of files after I pointed it to the root during the setup wizard.
Probably as a consequence of similar reports, the behavior of watchfolders was altered to scan only 1 folder deep, while the setup wizard still behaves somewhat retarded afaik. My complaint was exclusively about the setup wizard at the time though, and absolutely not about watchfolders.

That answers the question, although it does leave people who have a directory hierarchy already established kind of out in the cold. You could of course create symbolic links in a "media" directory that points directly to the files, which is what I've done, seems to work just fine.

Inappropriate?I agree it's bad behavior. The setup wizard should protect users from bad choices. Your average user doesn't even know about watchfolders, so it's their own responsibility if they want Miro to index hundreds of videos.
Someone but me should file a bug report disguised as a feature request I suppose.

It looks like they're looking to implement it at some point.

One can only hope. This in my opinion really keeps miro from being a total video solution... -
