This site is awesome, except that I can't ever find what I want because there isn't a search bar. Search bar please!!
You could use some user experience help with the site design. I am a user experience architect, if you need me. =) The site design is awesome, but lacking in some practical functionality.
First of all thank you for such a wonderful resource. Still there's no limit to perfection :-) It would be great if the site remembers my choice in View: 30/60/90 block. Now I have to switch view back to 90 thumbnails per page over and over each time I browse collections.
I've tried to reset my password a few times. Although I've successfully received the reset password emails and reset my password, when I login with the new password, I continue to receive the "Invalid login" error message. Is there another way to login?
Love it - I'm sold. I will definitely use this on a weekly basis but I would use this on a daily/constant basis if you had a Firefox plugin or bookmarklet a la clipmarks.com, where I could select the portion of a website I want to contribute, leave a note or two, and voila. You would see a lot more contributions that way, from me and probably all your users. Keep it up.
This site is an excellent resource for inspiration, but the functionality falls a bit short of becoming a really useful tool. A few simple additions would make this an essential part of my workflow:
*Ability to edit the title of a set after its created.
*Ability to page through a user set one by one, like a slideshow.
*A direct link to my sets in the main navigation
*Breadcrumb navigation links
*Ability to view all my sets at once, rather than only 7 at a time.
*Ability to share a user set with other users so that a team can contribute and collaborate.
Could you please sort the user sets alphabetically? I love using your site, but hate having to go through the list of all my sets everytime I want to add something. And search functionality would enhance usability enormously!
really liking pattern tap, i hope it continues to grow!
one thing i've noticed that would be useful- if tap sources automatically opened in new window/tab in the browser. it can be done manually of course but its a pain. also its taking users away from your site- not so cool when you're trying to build a community!
Yo guys, great site - would be good if I could remove images in a set... or even delete a set - I seem to of created 2 sets buy mistake with images I dont want, Doh!!
the site looks useful but how do you navigate effectively this website? It seems there is no description of the pattern, just a screenshot; I don't know if it will point to an article, or a live example of the pattern. I would like to see an ajax way of very quickly browsing through all the screenshots without clicking 100 times. Thanks!!
Why are images not showing up in Firefox 3? I was browsing successfully, and upon switching to a new set, none of the images were being returned. It looks like the code is looping, but no actual tags are being drawn. I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.5
I'm looking for registration patterns, I can't see any in the main tap so I thought I'd look though the user sets? is there any way of searching user sets?
Disclaimer:
My only submission hasn't been approved, so I'm not sure about how easy it is to get approved.
That said, removing the barrier to contribute would enable instant sharing. For instance: I find a great snippet of UI design. I post it to the site. I share the link on Twitter (courtesy of an auto-shortened URL). Instant gratification. Got to love that.

If you were to allow examples of bad design, removing the need to moderate content would solve itself. So long as your users are tagging bad design with "bad."
Beyond the suggestion:
Furthermore, it is subjective whether or not a design is good or bad, in some cases. A good navigation design to me might be different than your interpretation of a good navigation design. Allowing your users to have the freedom to say "this is good" and "this is bad" is a freedom worth considering. It let's them own their content. I could compile a collection of bad UI designs. (And in conjunction with adding descriptions to contributions) Then explain what makes it a bad design. Even if it's great typographically, it might stink functionally.
