Quality Control?

I'd find it useful if we could vote on the quality of the submissions. I'm spending a lot of time looking at rubbish and it worries me that it's being legitimsed by being included on pattern tap. Too much nepotism going on? Is the system being gamed?
I'd vote positively for things I thought were inspirational, negatively for things that were pap and not at all for things that were OK. Poorly scoring submissions are demoted and dropped in the hierarchy so they gain less attention. HIghly scoring items are given the credence they deserve.
