tool for adding lots of users at once to a pbwiki 2.0 wiki... Last reply on June 08, 2008 16:16.

ok... it's by no means pretty...

    <div id="myusertable">form</div>
    <div id="responser">response</div>
    <div id="addedusers">users</div>
    <p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Felothtes.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fcreate_usertable.js%22%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
    <p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Felothtes.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fuploadusers_onclick.js%27%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
    <p> </p>

but if you put that snippet in your pbwiki 2.0 wiki, you get a form that will allow you to add as many users at once as you'd like... the only down side is that you have to click "ok" a few times per user... but just hold down the enter or escape key and that should be dealth with easily enough...

How do I add a big link to a comment so it does not get cut off? Last reply on June 07, 2008 23:42.

We would like to add some large URLs to comments. When we enter these in the comment field, the URL is cut off and then not linkable.
    e.g.
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/co...
We would rather not use tiny URL for this. How can we make these URLs not be cut off?

How do I link sidebars titles to folders? Last reply on June 11, 2008 15:16.

I've read that sidebars appear on every page, but I can also see the sidebar and folders sections. Is this due to my administrator status? How do I link from a title in the sidebar to my folders for users who can't see both? So far I can link to an individual page but how do I link to a whole folder where I've set up related pages?

Seaching multiple words are EXACT matches Last reply on June 10, 2008 17:58.

Search is like doing a search in quotes on Google?
Unless I am wrong, then this is a hindrance to take up of our business wiki by users. I have just tested v1 & v2. Our problem is that generally we want search results to be weighted:
Exact match (excluding case) (i.e. words appear together and in the same order)
    All words appear in title
All words appear in title or text

We can't let Google in as it is a private business wiki and so needs credentials. So am I right, if so, are there any plans to "improve" the search?

The business case is that the WIKI is getting large and users are not finding things quickly, which is reducing the effectiveness and adoption of the WIKI. I had just assumed the search would be Googlesque.

why google ads DONT work with PBWiki2.0?

I have a google AdSense account, and the code (copy/ paste from Google) worked fine in PBWiki 1.0.

But, now it doesnt work wtih PBWiki 2.0!!

without ads....its tough to pay for the wiki. It is important to me that they work, in order to continue as a paying customer.

    please advise,

How do I find a sample business wiki to evaluate the product? Last reply on June 04, 2008 20:27.

How do I find a sample wiki to evaluate the product? I set up my own personal wiki, but that is not helpful in getting me to understanding what different templates are like, and most importantly, how the search function works, because I only have a few pages which won't approach the complexity of the business wiki I'm considering. There MUST be some dummy samples of private or business wikis that prospective buyers can access, right?

Can you sort dates in a sortable table? Last reply on June 04, 2008 23:31.

I'm using the sortable table function in pbwiki 2.0.

Unfortunately, it seems to handle dates (such as 6/3/2008) as a number (632008) so that a date such as 5/30/2008 (5302008) would be listed higher than 6/2/2008. In other words, it just doesn't work for dates, which seems like a pretty basic function.

Is there any workaround or plan to address this issue?

Is there a way of sharing a password to multiple unregistered students? Last reply on June 03, 2008 15:09.

I want to use a wiki with multiple users in a class. I do not know their email addresses. I want them to open up a page within the wiki that I have created and edit it.

I do not want them to have to register and then invite them. Is there a quick way of sharing a password between multiple unregistered students? I am using pbwiki 2.0

Security Error: Domain Name Mismatch? Last reply on June 03, 2008 15:08.

I have my pbwiki aliased to a custom domain (wiki.bunchball.com). This was working fine. Today, whenever I click "Login to Edit", I get a browser error message saying "Security Errror: Domain Name Mismatch, that says that I'm trying to establish a connection with wiki.bunchball.com but that the security certificate belongs to *.pbwiki.com

Then, in Firefox, I get taken to my list of wikis. I click on wiki.bunchball.com and I'm still not logged in. Repeat the process with the same results.

IE seems to get me logged in eventually. Going to bunchball.pbwiki.com and logging in works. Did something change recently?

social bookmarking... Last reply on June 17, 2008 17:27.

Some wikis are noteworthy or interesting... other wikis are a collection of specific noteworthy/interesting things...

It'd be cool if the social networking icons (digg, furl, etc) at the bottom of the page could be for the particular page you were looking at instead of the whole thing.

    Thoughts?

A user of my wiki gets an error message when he tries to log-in Last reply on June 03, 2008 03:22.

I have tried to share my private pbwiki 2.0 with someone else. I set him up as a user, but he tells me that he is unable to login. When he clicks the link that was sent to him, he gets this error message:

Oops! We can't recognize the link you clicked on.

To fix this, please cut and paste the full URL from the email into your browser (then press Enter).

He did the copy and paste, but the same error message comes up in the browser. Same result in firefox and safari.

    Can you help? Thank you.
