There are a couple of tools I would like to see as service to be able to incorporate directly into a wiki. One is a simple bulletin board feature (like PHPBB), the other is a time managment utility like ActiTime http://www.actitime.com/
Thes would greatly enhance the ability to use the wiki real time for project management. This would expand the ability to use the wiki service
The SideBar permanently covers part of the page but it is used when you want to navigate out of the page. Would it make sense to have as a drop-down or a tab.
I've now been using PBWiki for a few months (as a place for my family to communicate and collaborate) and am looking for ideas regarding how to generate a family tree within the PBWiki, if possible. So far, I've used a text "tree" (i.e. dashes and vertical lines) to outline branchs and roots for each name on the "tree". I'm making each name a wiki hotlink to a separate page of photos and information for that individual. It works OK, but is not easy to create or edit the tree, and it's certainly not aesthetically pleasing.
I'd like to try and add a small photo of each person above their name, and this text-based tree would not easily support it.
I've thought about instead attaching a powerpoint file with an image of the tree and each name on the tree would have URL hotlinks to the separate Wiki pages, but not every family member has Powerpoint.
Any ideas? Any upcoming enhancements to PBWiki that might help? :)
