When I right click | Edit Link on a pbwiki link, I am sure it used to show the link dialogue as "wiki link" and the name of the page that the link pointed to, i.e. in the drop down.

Today it appears:
IE7 - like an external URL
Firefox 3- Like a new WIKI page.

Has something changed, was it never like I think it should be, can someone check their V1 WIKI?

Hover over link to get a hint would be really useful.

I want Hints on links.

Our WIKI has three distinct sections, IT techincal, one page per screen, Procedural and Background information. At the top of each page we cross reference, so in a Technical page I will link to relevant Procedure and Background information. Currently we have the text of the link and the link itself.

Wouldn't it be good if we could have a popup hint for the link?

Links to new wiki pages are not differentiated

When I create a link to a new page and save my edits, there is nothing notable about the new link.

Because this link has no content, it should be flagged in some easy to recognize way. In fact, there is text somewhere that actually describes it as differentiated...

I'm loving 2.0, but trying to figure out how to make PBwiki the centralized dashboard for my team.

One of the issues is that when I link to external sites, these obviously open up in either a blank window, a new tab or in the current window. When that happens my folks "leave" PBwiki.

I'd love for there to be a way that we can have links open up in the "body" of PBwiki or use some workaround so they can easily use the search or sidebar feature to get back to the wiki. Does that make sense? I just want PBWiki to drive everything and keep them in the interface.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I thought I'd toss it out there...

When I add a link, why does a blue box appear with "Person [link] Right-click for shortcuts"?

When I added an "April 22" link; a blue-outline box on my page showed up that says "Person April 22 Right-click for shortcuts". What's up? The box gets in the way of page text!

Hard to make a short link with description in a list.

To make a description - separate from a link - in a numbered list, I have to
1. Undo the listness
2. Add my description on a new line with a leading space
3. Delete the carriage return
4. Select the whole list again
5. Click on numbered list the redo the listness

How do I link to a wikipage?

Click “Link” in the toolbar.

Make sure “WikiPage” is selected in the “Page Type” dropdown menu.

In the “Link to wiki page” dropdown menu, select the name of an existing page, in this case "WhatWikiIs".

In “Link Text” you can type the wording of the link you would like to use to link to the page. If you highlighted a word on the page before you clicked the “Link” button, that word will already be in this field.

Click "OK".

How do I link to another website or URL?

Highlight a word or URL that you wish to use as the link.

Click the “Link” button in the toolbar.

In the “Page Type” dropdown menu select “URL”
Choose the proper protocol (http://, news://, etc).

In “Link Text” type the wording of the link that you would like to use to link to the page. If you highlighted a word on the page before you clicked the “Link” button, that should be in this field.

Click “OK”

Note: If you don’t highlight a word before clicking “Link”, the editor will insert the entire web address into the page as the link, as shown below.

I am very new to this technology. I have figured out how to link a word to another one of my wiki pages but can this be done automatically to make sure all possible links are formed? Thanks.

I just edited a link on my sidebar (which I've be doing for some time) and the sidebar is gone. How can I get it back?

The only new thing that I did was to try to upload a new file (to which one of the links would map).

How can I get my sidebar back intact?

In the "link to wiki page" selection box, all pages starting with lower-case are sorted last.

Using the point-and-click editor to add internal links, the selection box sorts the pages as follows:

'2 easy ways'
'Class times'
...(many other pages)
'Thesis Structure'
'WhatWikiIs'
'homogeneous'
'plugins'

Please fix this to make the sorting mechanism case-insensitive. It's very confusing not to find 'homogeneous' between 'FrontPage' and 'Honours Journal', which is where it should be.

I'm trying to link pages that I've created to a central page. Done dozens of these - but now when I try to add the link it takes me to create a new page instead. Tried many different things - same result. Help! My students are waiting to get on the wiki to post their assignments!!
