logging in used to be difficult, now its worse. I can't log in to my account. I've reset my password, but when I log in it takes me right back to the same log in page.
Why does this need to be so difficult. All my users complained about the log in process before the recent change. Now it is even worse.
And by the way, if users need to log in before contacting support, how do you help them if they have log-in problems?
I created a private wiki this weekend, and emailed invites to a dozen coworkers.
none of them can get into the wiki, and now that I logged out I cannot log back in either!
I filled out the Contact Wiki Owner form and sent a resuest, and the request reached me, so I am clearly the Owner of the wiki. Feeling dumb tho. Please help!
I paid extra to have a custom domain. wiki.kookyplan.com rather than kookyplan.pbwiki.com
But, the trouble is....
After I log in with my id and password....it gives me a link to the wiki.kookyplan.com....and if I follow it...I go to the frontPage, but it doesnt remember that I logged in....and asks me to do it again.
Then, if I try to log in from there...TROUBLE...a warning message pops up on IE...telling me that the page name and the page address are not the same...and that I should be careful!!!
I am the creator/administrator of a private wiki, but I cannot log in to the wiki. I'm experiencing the bug that has been reported, I created a wiki 2 months ago, but cannot log back into it... won't recognize my email as being registered on the system, but I have emails from PBwiki.
I've given my students the URL with access code for my pbwiki. But they are denied access with the following message: "You do not have cookies enabled. Please enable cookies to log in."
Many of my students are concerned about privacy/security and do not want to enable cookies. Isn't there any way for them to log in without cookies enabled?
Although I have my log in page set to send me an email notification when the wiki is updated, I have not been receiving notifications in the past week or so. Other users are reporting this same problem. As the wiki administrator, I have confirmed (using the Settings link to Notifications) that we are all signed up to get notifications. What has changed and how can we return to getting notifications?
Hi! I created a wiki called "pisayresearch" in 2007. I must have logged on at the time, but now (March 2008) none of my email addresses are registered on PBWiki. I realized this when I created a new wiki today (called "dedcamp").
My problem is: I don't know who owns "pisayresearch" now. I'd like to practice things like archiving data, change access keys etc as the owner.
I set it up as a teaching-feedback wiki for my senior students at the Philippine Science High School. By the way, it's been a great help. Thank you.
When people visit a pbwiki site, and try to edit a page, they are greeted with a simply ridiculous page that is hopelessly convoluted. I have not had one single person not need help with something that should be effortless.
Have you ever pretended you were a plain dumb user, unfamiliar with your concepts, and studied your "Log in Page?"
What is an invite? They have no clue. Next, they try getting an account on the left. That fails, so as most sites require some form of login, they naturally want do do SOMETHING, so they try entering an "identity" on the right.
Unless they have a wikiword already, (you do not even tell them they need one), they will struggle with at least 3 ways of signing in, and they all fail.
The only way they will ever find a signup screen for pbwiki--which you don't even explain why this is useful at all--is if they click the LOGIN button on the identity side. Most never do. They just leave.
You cannot get satisfied users if you run them off at this early stage. I sent a few dozen people, and most are still emailing me, totally confused.
I am very disappointed that with all your staff, someone doesn't take the time to write a clear and concise login text with logical links on on it. If you would like me to do it, I would be happy to help, but something has to change.
