Several times a day the "recent visitors" list in my passwordprotected Wiki says:
Guest (administrator)21 mins ago
w00t? GUESTS in a passwordprotected Wiki? And no...it doesn't even have an emailadress assigned to it.
The other users asked me either to delete the Guest-Access or the Wiki.
What is that???
'No contact info for this administrator from 79.223.25.202.'
My sites (v 1.0) require agreement to an Acceptable Use Policy. I just gave access to a new user and trained them personally. I always have users edit a page so that the Acceptable Use Policy will be "activated" and they will need to agree in order to proceed. This did not occur today. Three weeks ago (+/-) a reliable regular user reported that she had to re-agree to the Acceptable Use Policy on 2 wikis (same day).
Re-signing is an annoyance, but failure of the required signing is a security issue for me. Is there a problem with this function??
Can a PBWiki for business be secure from public viewing in its entirety, requiring login to even see the contents or owners? I wish to collaborate with numerous remote colleagues, but can not allow any content beyond the URL to be visible outside of the secure group of contributors, unless they've logged in.
Can the adminstrator approve content before posting? A teacher who wants to set up a wiki, with student pages who according to district policy is responsible for all content, wants to approve all student content before it goes "live."
We upgraded to the Gold service and had understood this would be a secure sockets site. It seems only the login page is secure though. How can we be assured our information is secure? We are keeping the site private, but still have concerns. Thank you
We want to make it so that our users can all access the wiki, but only after we have verified that they own the email address they put in and that it is one in our domain. This may be an option, but I can't find it in the current free wiki or the 2.0 beta wiki. We won't mind paying for a wiki to be hosted, but I can't find how this works before we do it.
Is there an auto log offon the system side after an extended period of no activity, or when a user fails to log out before closing the browser?
My company has some shared workstations and we've had users be able to access via other individual's identities when only the browser has been closed ... and, yes, we've told them to log out but they probably didn't listen to their mothers either.
It's be nice if the Wiki Description weren't limited to 248 characters. It can be hard to explain the current (kludgey) security model in just a few words (check out gtventurelab.pbwiki.com for my current example).
And the ability to display a graphic/logo would be nice, too!
(This topic from another thread at Casey's suggestion.)
I have a bunch of low level computer users so I wanted to make the Wiki as easy as possible. The Wiki is private. My wiki invite key is blank so far. I sent everyone concerned a manual invitation. Then in a test, I was able to get into the site and edit a page without identifying myself. I was notified that "someone" made a change. What's up with that? If I'm not on the list it shouldn't let me in right?
I've shared the whitepapers and information about PBwiki security, but I they would like to see some independent assessments of PBwiki security. Can you help?
i have confirmed it is not a ie browser setting as when we bypass the network security settings it works ok. Can you please let me know what sites we need to 'allow' in order to get it working fine. thanks. I would like to demonstrate this to company colleagues but am unable to at present,
The javascript error is : Object expected
the line it is refering to in the source code is:
I would love to have a private place where my partner and I can store all of our shared passwords to banks and various websites and such. I know having it private would be fine but can't people see what's on the page if it's not encrypted? Would the platinum level (all https:) be the only secure way to do this? Would storing it in an embedded spreadsheet be any safer?
