Use wiki vs. eVite or Facebook for Networking? Last reply on May 28, 2008 21:30.
Unsure if I need a basic or upgraded & invoiced wiki... The wiki concept seemed to fit my purpose for a grass-roots business networking process. I only need 1-2 editors to publish information about upcoming event, but would like the 400+ interested people to be able to suggest themes, locations, discussion topics. We have no budget (since we are grassroots), so certainly could not address $x / user / month.
Does a wiki fit this purpose or should I be using Facebook or eVite? -

script support in 2.0 and upgrade mandatory? Last reply on May 17, 2008 01:02.
I have a private 1.0 PBwiki (with over 150 pages) where I use some javascript and a test with
https://forumdemo.pbwiki.com/FrontPage
tells me that non of my code works in 2.0 anymore.
That's a big problem, the html and javascript support was the main reason I've chosen PBwiki!
I copied the core of my Sidebar code here, that you can see what I'm talking about:
http://testwk.pbwiki.com/FrontPage
So the Question is how I get something like that to work in 2.0?
I know there are Browsers which have such quick search features, but I have many different computers at home and work, with different browsers and don't want to configure them all when something changes.
I know the thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/pbwiki/top... but from the answers there I don't have much hope to see javascript in 2.0 soon.
My suggestions / questions to PBwiki:
1. Make a HUGE warning for everybody who even thinks about upgrading to 2.0 that during the "upgrade" all javascript is deleted and cannot be added back. Especially since you can't go back to 1.0 once you've upgraded.
2. Allow javascript in private wikis.
3. Allow javascript in Sidebar and make it editable admin only. or something similar.
4. How do I make sure that my 1.0 wiki does NOT get "upgrade" to 2.0?
5. Will javascript in 2.0 be available before we are forced to upgrade to 2.0, will there be an option to _never_ upgrade to 2.0 if you don't allow javascript for it?

Why am I getting nag screens about "commercial use"? Last reply on May 03, 2008 19:28.
I recently started using PB Wiki. Currently it's for myself and I have plans to add 2 employees to it. My understanding is that does not constitute 'commercial use'. However, I keep getting nag screens and reminder lines about upgrading. The upgrades seem to indicate more than 3 users though. What's up with all the nag screens? -

Have Business acct in pb v1; can we upgrade that instead of testing v2 with a free acct? Last reply on April 25, 2008 01:26.
We have a paid business account in v1. We received a golden ticket for v2, and I mindlessly followed it and signed up, thinking I would be upgrading our existing account. Instead I find we have a v2 free account. Blah, how useless is this? The features we care about in v2 are apparently not available in the free version (folders, folder-level permissions), plus our AuthAPI integration must be redone.
Is it "suicidal" to upgrade a live (if rather new) wiki to v2? If not, can we do that?
Our live v1 acct is celearning, the v2 useless acct is cecredit.
Thanks! -

Can we somehow get user donations? Last reply on March 02, 2008 22:24.
Right now, wiki's can only be upgraded a whole year at a time. I've got people who would like to donate $5 here and there, but nobody who's willing to drop the minimal $100ish for a whole year upgrade. Is there some way users could donate towards upgrading the wiki? Even if it was just a single-month payment option -

creating a premium wiki Last reply on February 06, 2008 23:02.
We are new to the pbwiki family and I am not sure how we add additional wikis to our site. We are using the custom domain option and want to have each wiki be a subdomain of our main domain (confused yet?). What's the process for creating each of our new wikis (we purchased 20 to begin) -

move a calendar plugin from one pbwiki to another? Last reply on January 24, 2008 01:44.
I have a free pbwiki, where I set up and have in full bloom a calendar plugin. Many dates/events scheduled therein.
I just purchased a premium wiki and I am going to migrate from the free one to this new $$ one.
Question is: can I move my calendar, as is, from the free to my new wiki?? or will I have to install a fresh calendar plugin and repopulate it from scratch? Seems like a lot of work, possibly unnecessary. So, hoping for an easy way to point to my old calendar.
