How do I create a link to a file I uploaded Last reply on May 16, 2008 01:27.

I uploaded a Word file. Now I want to create a link to it from one of my pages. How do I know what the URL is for the file?

pbwiki Auto Update Program Last reply on May 13, 2008 14:22.

I wrote a little program that automatically updates a wiki by synchronizing it with files on your computer. You tell the program which directories you want to upload and then the program uploads all the files in that directory, and creates (or updates) a wiki page with the same name as the directory with links to all the files.

This is useful to me because I want to keep some Word and Excel files updated on the wiki, but I don't like having to go through the extra step of uploading them each time I make a small change.

Limitations: v1.0 developer API enabled pbwikis only.

It is really hacked together, so there are probably lots of bugs, but it seems to work for me okay. If you are a perl programmer, I would be happy for any help or improvements.

You can download the program at: http://fredwiki2.pbwiki.com/pbwiki+Au...

Can you overlay an existing file? Last reply on May 09, 2008 16:29.

    Hello,

Is there a trick to uploading files? I had a complaint that a user tried to load an updated document but the wiki would not show the changes? He said he had to change the name of the file to get the new version to load. I can think of all sorts of reasons we don't want to do this such as having to create a new link and naming convention problems.

Uploading Powerpoint slideshow with narration Last reply on April 11, 2008 03:10.

I would like to add a powerpoint slide presentation with narration to our class wiki page. I have uploaded a saved powerpoint file by clicking on attach file. It uploads with a icon that is a page with a question mark in it. From my mac, proceed to open it, and it asks me to choose a program to open it. I have to choose powerpoint to open it. The slides show up in the program and I have to choose -->view slide show, to see the show. The narration does not come up. Instead it says that narration (file) is not found.
    My Question is...
How do I upload the slide show on the wiki and make it easy for people to open and access it. As my students are young... 8 -9 years old, and we spent many hours learning powerpoint and recording narration, I would like to stick with this program.

    Thanks.
