Why should I use a wiki to manage my business, and specifically why PBwiki? I understand the versatillity of wikis, but for my purposes I'm not sure how it's any better than a Google or even Yahoo! Group.
What's the key selling point for PBwiki over other intergrated data management services?
When people type in ruckuswireless.pbwiki.com they come to a Log In page which has an option to login via wikiwide password (which we have already disabled) then people have to click on the "PbWiki Identity" link to login with their username and password to access our corporate wiki.
Can i remove this confusion and extra step required and take them to https://my.pbwiki.com/?wiki=ruckuswir... when they type https://ruckuswireless.pbwiki.com
I have a free pbwiki, where I set up and have in full bloom a calendar plugin. Many dates/events scheduled therein.
I just purchased a premium wiki and I am going to migrate from the free one to this new $$ one.
Question is: can I move my calendar, as is, from the free to my new wiki?? or will I have to install a fresh calendar plugin and repopulate it from scratch? Seems like a lot of work, possibly unnecessary. So, hoping for an easy way to point to my old calendar.
Hi-- I'm new. I am doing a 21 week course with a different speaker each week. I thought to have each week featured and detailed on a separate page with the WEEK # as the name and each week then as a separate topic with details and photo. But, I don't see how to scroll pages so the information is rather lost to students or even to me for reviewing. Do I have to put all 21 weeks on one page? Thanks! --Jae
On some computers the text of my site gets pushed below the sidebar when the page loads. It also does the same thing when I have the favorites frame open in explorer. Is there a way to have the contents of my page to auto fit regardless of the computer?
Just come out of the webinar! Really good , thanx. Page-level access is definitely going in the right direction. I think not integrating groups of users is a big mistake though. Lets go through an example. You use pbwiki as an intranet and you have 200 users. The CEO wants to produce a page on an exciting new update and he has given his senior managers read and edit access to the page so they can collaborate on it. Fine. Couple of days later, page is finalised and CEO wants to 'publish' it up to all of the employees to have read access. Are you seriously trying to advocate that the CEO assigns access to each of the 200 individual users. Not going to happen! How can you make this workable without having groups?? Would be interested on your take on this.
I would like to remove the home button on at the top of some of my wiki pages. I know you can do this with javascript but I can't seem to find that script anywhere. Can anyone help me out?
There are a couple of tools I would like to see as service to be able to incorporate directly into a wiki. One is a simple bulletin board feature (like PHPBB), the other is a time managment utility like ActiTime http://www.actitime.com/
Thes would greatly enhance the ability to use the wiki real time for project management. This would expand the ability to use the wiki service
The SideBar permanently covers part of the page but it is used when you want to navigate out of the page. Would it make sense to have as a drop-down or a tab.
One time I got my honeypot forum Spammed with PbWiki domain Malware pages, and I emailed the developers and they closed the Malware accounts right on the spot and email a thank you note to me, all within a few hours.
I'm trying to set up an educational account. When I get to the part where I'm told to wait for an email response, I never get it. I also check my spam holding area, and it isn't there either. I swear! I tried twice. My email address is fine.
My site was flagged by by the spam filter when I tried to upload a robots.txt file (which is used to keep search engines from indexing a site). How do I get it unflagged?
When I paste text in the page editor from emails or Frontpage, using either the "source" tag or the "html" productivity plugin, the resulting text is reformatted. The fonts, highlighting, text size all change and sometimes text is moved from one place to another in the document.
Is there another way to accomplish this other than re-keying the text?
