Adding students as writers without email addresses

This is something that cannot be done in PBwiki 2.0 right now. We're working on a solution to this issue, because it is a very important one! However, I don't have an ETA on when it will be available.

There is a workaround mentioned here on GetSatisfaction -

If you use Gmail, you can use the "+name@" function to create PBwiki Accounts. This is how it works:

- Create a gmail address - EG Holly@gmail
- For your users, invite Holly+Abby@gmail, Holly+Ben@gmail, Holly+Carrie@gmail, etc as writers to your wiki
- You'll recieve invites for these people at holly@gmail
- Then you can help Abby, Ben and Carrie set up Accounts through the links in the invites.

From then on, Abby can sign into her PBwiki Account using Holly+Abby@gmail, plus the individual password she set up for that Account.

However, all mail to these addresses, including notification emails, will be sent to you, so make sure your users turn them off!
