Inappropriate?Hi Lanette,
Any of your users can click on the "comments" button at the top of your 1.0 wiki to add a comment to the wiki page.
-
Inappropriate? What about if we have 2.0?
-
Inappropriate?Hi mrslachance- if you have a 2.0 wiki, the comments section is at the bottom of every page.
-
Inappropriate? But, it says " you do not have access to post comments. How do I change that?"
-
Inappropriate? Are you the owner or a member of this wiki? If not, you'll need to use the "Contact the owner" link at the bottom of the wiki page to contact the wiki owner and ask them to invite you.
-
Inappropriate?Yes, I'm the owner. I don't want to invite others to edit, but I do want public users to post comments. Is that possible?
-
Inappropriate?Unfortunately they will need to be registered users to post comments. We're exploring some options to allow the public to post comments, but that's a bit in the future.
-
Inappropriate?ok, they just need to be users-but they don't need to be invited? Thanks so much!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? They do need to be invited as well. Luckily we have a new feature called "Request Access" where they can just click a button and request to join your wiki - making it very easy to add registered, invited users to your wiki.
-
Inappropriate?yes but then they have to be at least writers right? they would have access to edit the pages too! i only want people to be able to leave comments!
I’m frustrated
-
Hi Ana0 yes- they need to be at least writers. If you have a premium wiki, you could go to "page security" and lock any pages you don't want edited.
We're exploring a comment-only editing permission. I'll add your feedback to the feature request. -
Inappropriate?Pardon me for jumping in, but I have the same problem. I've posted a bunch of articles to my V2.0 public pbwiki, and I want viewers to be able to add their comments. The whole idea is to make this interactive. I don't know who the viewers are, but I do want them to participate. How do I accomplish this?
I’m getting sick
-
Hi Steve - if viewers of your wiki want to participate in the wiki itself, they can use the "Request Access" tool on the login page of your wiki to join in. Once you've approved their access and assigned them an access level, they'll be able to participate. -
Inappropriate? Please allow me to be apart of this conversation.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the only way for people to comment on a pbwiki is for them to be users. If us users have opted to be paid customers, then the minimum cost for public comments is to make a user a "Reader". Apparently this is discounted at 90%, and at $8 a user-month, I have to pay $.80 for each person's comments.
My understanding was the Reader status was designed to invite people to read private wikis. Would it be possible to create a commenter status. This way wiki owners can receive public feedback (like wordpress bloggers) for free. Later on, commenters could be upgraded to writers or private readers (paid) at the wiki owners discretion.
Benefit: Free comments would provide the ability to grow a wiki and expand pbwiki's customer base. Currently, any form of participation (on upgraded wikis of paid customers) comes at a cost.
I’m looking for balance
