Can I edit using standard Wiki formatting rather than the GUI buttons?
Can I edit using standard Wiki formatting, rather than the GUI widgets? I need to cut & paste information from existing Wikis, and when I do, things like:
=== heading ===
* bullet point
* bullet point
I see that actual text rather than what I would expect, an H3 heading followed by a bullet pointed list.

Inappropriate?It sounds like you're coming from another wiki altogether. PBwiki never supported "standard" wiki formatting; they made up their own. However, they have scrapped all wiki formatting in favor of WYSIWYG editing, because that's what the paying customers prefer. Sorry.
I’m sad to have taken such huge steps backwards in the wiki world
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, it's not really a wiki if it doesn't use wiki formatting, is it? More like "online Microsoft Word".
-
Inappropriate?You are entirely correct. They have become no more of a "wiki" than Google Sites (the ghost of JotSpot). But you can grab a V1.0 wiki, and, using the Classic Editor, you can use their version of wiki syntax, called WikiStyle. It's what I use, and they claim that 1.0 will always remain available, although they've promised to cease supporting it at some unspecified point in the future.
I’m very fond of ease-of-use, and WYSIWYG ain't easy to use (especially if you can't use a mouse due to a physical disability)
-
Inappropriate?wow! I never thought of the physical disability part for not being able to use a mouse. That Sucks!
-Guy, I didn't think they were going to keep 1.0s available? -
Inappropriate?"I didn't think they were going to keep 1.0s available?"
They tend to vacillate when asked; I believe the last "official" word was "we'll never shut it down completely, but we have stopped enhancing it, and we will stop supporting it eventually". I'll continue to use it until they shut me down.
I’m guessing disabled users and high-paying users do not overlap that much

Inappropriate?yeah its great web space if you use it right. Its to customizable to throw it away.
