Disable the Comment Box on the Front Page only?
The users have been commenting on the Front Page rather than using a dedicated "Discussion" page. I'd like to keep the Front Page clean. Major announcements only and navigation. So can i turn off the Comment box on the Front Page?

Inappropriate?Hi Mike - some of our users have come up with a workaround that will allow you to do this. Just place the below code into the "Any Google Gadgets" plugin on the front page of your wiki:
<style>#comments { display:none !important; }</style>
This should do it for you!

Inappropriate?Thanks Rachel. Worked beautifully.
For any other newbies that might have the same need
Go to the Edit tab of the Front Page.
Click on the "Insert Plugin" from the toolbar.
Choose "Productivity"
Choose "Any Google Gadget"
Then paste Rachels' text into the open box
<style>#comments { display:none !important; }</style>
and Save.
Works perfectly.
Thanks again for the quick response
I’m delighted

Inappropriate? What text? When I see this page on help.pbwiki.com there are just a couple of blank lines in the message from Rachel, between \"wiki:\" and \"This should do it for you\". Something's eaten them...
-
Inappropriate?Ah it's displaying now. Don't know what changed in the last few days, maybe someone fixed something.
-
Inappropriate?Can't see the text either!

Inappropriate?Oh, thank you! This seems to have worked very well. This was the first weekend that I allowed student editing of the wiki, and they were so enthusiastic that the comments were really getting out of control!
I’m thankful
