How can I give people access to my Wiki to make edits and comment
How can I give my community access to the Wiki site without having to invite them one at a time. I want to be able to copy the Wiki URL into an email, give them the password that I set up for the site, and then send it out to a group of people. I'd like those people to be able to make edits, post comments, etc. This is super frustrating because I've tested the site out on a few people and they can't get access. This is an urgent site to help a friend who's dying od cancer and I need to be able to provide a space for her community to gain access to information about her health and sign up for times they'd be available to help.

Inappropriate? Are you using a 1.0 wiki or a 2.0 wiki? If it's a 1.0 wiki, your family should be able to log in with just a password. Your best bet for getting this resolved is to contact support (using the 'help' link in the upper right corner of your wiki) and file a trouble ticket.
If they don't get back with you, reply and we'll see if we can get it sorted out.
I’m sure we can get it worked out

Inappropriate?Sadly, I'm using Wiki 2.0. I already read the whole help page on 2.0 and the changes you've made. Am I out of luck with the 2.0 version? It's not an option for me to re-create the site in 1.0, as I've already put too much time into it.
What's the easiest way to invite people to use and view the site with Wiki 2.0 without having to invite them individually???
Thank you, Tesilya

I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? The easiest way (which is still a little messy) depends on a few things:
1) Does everyone need to be able to make changes, or will some people only be able to read?
2) Is it a private wiki? (Do you have to be logged in just to read it?)
3) Do you have a gmail account, or access to multiple email accounts?
Depending on these things, I will describe the easiest course of action.
My sympathies to your friend.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?1. Yes, everyone needs to be able to make changes.
2. Yes, I think you have to be logged on just to read it. Can I change that to make it easier for my luddite friends?
3. Yes, I have gmail.
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Okay. Here's whatcha do:
1) create a dummy email address to use as the "write" user for your wiki.
Gmail lets you add a '+' sign and any text you like onto your gmail name. So if you are tesilya@gmail, then tesilya+writer@gmail will also go to your gmail (tesilya+anything@gmail will go to your gmail).
2) Invite tesilya+writer@gmail to use your wiki (using the 'share this wiki' under the Sidebar)
3) When you get the invite email in your gmail, click the link and join the wiki. After a moment, you will be prompted to enter your name and a password.
4) Enter something like 'generic wiki user' for the name, and pick a password and enter it twice.
5) Once you've done that, you will be taken to your wiki. Verify that you have the ability to make changes to the wiki.
6) Log out, and log back in as yourself.
Now you can tell everyone to log in using tesilya+writer@gmail for the email, and give them the password you selected in step 4
Drawbacks
There's really only one drawback to this: everyone looks like the same user to PBwiki. That means that all the 'Recent Activity' displays will always have the same user making the changes, because everyone is logged in as the same user. You also cannot "ban", or remove access, for any single user, again because they are all using one user.
Please let me know if you have any problems with this.
I’m crossing my fingers

Inappropriate?Thank you for this fix, but it is key to my users that we're able to identify one another. This is a large group of friends supporting a friend who maybe be dying and we all want to be able to see who's making comments. But, thank you for this generic fix. We're going to opt to invite users one by one, even though there are nearly a hundred. I really hope that PBWiki changes this glitch of not being able to invite a large group of people simply by sending out the URL. It would prevent me from using PBWiki in the future. Thank you for your help.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate? That's the best workaround I can come up with using what they have available in 2.0. My apologies.
I’m sorry I couldn't make it work
