How is logging in with my PBwiki Account different from using the invite key (previously referred to as the wiki password)?

An invite key allows you to access a specific wiki. Logging in with your PBwiki Account lets you access any wiki where you're an authorized user. Let's take a look at a simple example.
Let's say you create a PBwiki for your company at acme.pbwiki.com with an invite key "business", and a PBwiki for your family at family.pbwiki.com with an invite key "family." Rather than remembering two different wikis and two different invite keys, you can set up a single PBwiki Account that lets you manage both. You go to my.pbwiki.com and sign up for a PBwiki Account using your email address. You will get an email to the address you use to confirm it's a valid address. Click the link in the email to validate the email address. Congratulations, your Account is now active!
In fact, you may already have a PBwiki Account. For example, anyone who has created a wiki after January 24th set one up when they created their wiki.
To tie your Acme and Family wikis to your Account, you can do several things.
First, you can visit a wiki directly. If you're logged into your Account, you'll be prompted to enter the password, which will allow you to tie the wiki to your Account.
If you're not logged into your PBwiki Account, go to the box that says "You may also log in with to your PBwiki Account to proceed" and log in. This will take you to your my.pbwiki.com page. Now if you try to use the wiki, you will be prompted to enter the password, which will allow you to tie the wiki to your Account.
From here, you can also use the "Join a wiki" box at the bottom of the my.pbwiki.com page to add the wiki to your PBwiki Account. Just enter the wiki name and click "Submit." Note that if you are not logged into the wiki that you submit, you will still need to enter the password.
If you use multiple wikis, and don't want to go through the trouble of going to each wiki and repeating the processes mentioned above, you can go to my.pbwiki.com, log in, and use the "Join a wiki" box at the bottom of the page to add wikis to your Account. Just enter the wiki name and click "Submit." Note that if you are not logged into the wiki that you submit, you will still need to enter the password as described above.

Inappropriate?I have a followup question. What do I see, as the wiki creator/administrator, when someone who has created a pbwiki account, and who has edit access to my wiki, makes an edit?
Because I have many students, I don't want to see their email addresses after each edit they make, I want to see their names. That is because I need to evaluate their participation in the wiki, and emails would be a nuissance.
Along those lines, is there some way to see 'all edits' that a particular user has made to one of the wikis that I administer?

Inappropriate? Why has KBCC Instructor's reply not been answered? It's an important concern. Do we absolutely need an email address? This could be difficult.

Inappropriate?@John K: Thanks for pointing this out, I must have missed this post and I apologize for that.
@KBCC Instructor: All activities will be displayed on the Recent Activity area of the sidebar.
If you wish to have their real names appear, you'll need to instruct your wiki users to go to my.pbwiki.com, login and edit their profile information there (including full name, location, etc.)
Regarding the 'all edits' view for a particular user - unfortunately, that feature has not been rolled out yet but we're definitely aware of the need. We'll keep you updated when this actually does get deployed as we currently have no ETA.
