How to build a public space in a private wiki?
We are very well protected because when somebody isn't loged, he just sees the front page and nothing else.
BUT
- he sees recent activities (wired !)
- he doesn't see at all the side bar so that even if I want to put in the sidebar some public pages, it won't appear.
My questions : can I delete recent activities from public space ?
+ can I put in it the sidebar ?
+ more generally what can I do to build easily a public space for my project's communication ?
Thanks !!
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hi Cornafrique - for you usage, it might be best to have two wikis, and link them to each other. You could create a public wiki and link to that from your private site. You can then customize the public wiki (ie remove recent activity) without it affecting your private space.
Will that work for you?

Inappropriate?I think it can work for me. I am just a little bit concerned by the new wiki design (indeed I can't pay for another wiki). But I am going to look at this !
Thanks !
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Yes my problem is the design, the blue/green theme and the little home at the top of the page, it is for communication so it is not so unimportant ! Any other ideas ? (for example giving me the right to apply the same color theme and the same logo as the wiki I pay for?) Thanks
I’m positive !

Inappropriate?Hello...
It is really a problem for me and I am a little bit disappointed because you don't seem to be decided to answer to my problem.
Moreover I remark that, when log out, I can still access to the private rss feed, a problem ! The solution is to create another wiki, a public one, I agree but CAN YOU GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO USE THE SAME COLOR AND LOGO THAN FOR MY FIRST WIKI ?
Thanks...
I’m a little bit disappointed

Can you tell me how are you still accessing the RSS feed? What steps are you using to access this?
Unfortunately, wikis are upgraded on a per-wiki permission. You'll need to upgrade your public wiki separately. -
Inappropriate?I log out then I return on the front-page. There I just have a read-level access. Then I click on the logo RSS (just next to the web adress at the top a Firefox) and I have access to the RSS page...
It is a pity for my problem concerning the public part of my wiki, but that is your decision... (I am still very disappointed, I thought that the functions presented were more trustworthy) -
If you're able to log out, and still see the wiki page, this means that your wiki is not private. Can you send me your wiki name so I can look into this? -
Inappropriate? In fact, it is a private wiki but we have paid for the premium contract which allows to put some rules of access on each page....
Anyway, my wiki is http://cornafrique.pbwiki.com
thanks
I’m full of hope
