I want Embedded variables/tokens in pages
i want to embed codes, like formula fields.
e.g. <original_author> <last_author> <last_edited>, the list goes on.
We are using our WIKI for our company procedures etc etc and have a requirement to review etc. also, it would be useful to be able to make assignments e.g.:
<set_last_reviewed>20080101</set_last_reviewed>
then later <last_review> and it to show the date. We want to have a rolling review process and don't want to have to manually maintain such things.
So suggestion 1 = Embedded variables
Suggestion 2 = Assignment of variables.</last_review></last_edited></last_author></original_author>

Inappropriate?when I've needed to do this on my wikis I actually used a div tag (and set its name/class) to store the data... div and span tags by themselves don't really mean anything, so this is the perfect use for them.

I've done something similar with a Javascript implementation of what the OP suggested...a lot of creativity in here. :D
