PBwiki Summer Camp

This looks like a good way to spend my summer. I've wanted to use a WIKI, and this should show me some best practices to use, and give me an opportunity to have some FUN!

I would like to know about customizing the look of my wiki.

HOWEVER... Your schedule does not say whether the seminars are 10 a.m. or 10 p.m. PDT. Could you please clarify this. For those interested, you can see what time it would be in your time zone at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock....

Just for the record, I've added my name to the table list 4 times since yesterday. Hope it sticks this time. I received one e-mail that told me to check the lists, but didn't see the other invitation one referred to in the message I received...

Approximately how long will the webinars last? I start school during week 4!!

I'm anxious to learn some of the more refined features...right now I feel like the wikis I've created are very basic and not very easy on the eye....nor are they easy to navigate around.

How do I unenroll? This process has been incredibly frustrating. Nothing has worked as it should and I still can't add my name to the list - the site keeps telling me to log in, even though I am logged in. I am a member of 7 other wikis and can edit and use them without trouble.

This has not been a good advertisment for PBwiki - if it's this much of a pain for me, how will my students be able to navigate it?

I don't clearly understand the homework instructions. Here are my questions regarding the assignments for Week 1:

"Upload your syllabus to your Summer Camp wiki" ... What syllabus? The Summer Camp syllabus? Or a syllabus of our own creation? The wiki I intended to work on (a library process manual) doesn't lend itself to creating a syllabus, but I could switch gears and create a lesson-based wiki if necessary.

Answer the questions located in Week One ... Where should we post those answers? On our wiki?

You haven't answered my question about timing. Above it says that the Webinars take place in the morning. Since there are people here from all over the world, with different time zones, that isn't specific enough. Could you please indicate if the seminars take place at 10 AM P.D.T. (or whatever it actually is). My time zone seems to have the Webinars in the afternoon. Please advise.

Thanks & a "shout out" to Kristine & her team for acting on the numerous e-mails I sent and those I am certain were sent by others. Today's wiki layout & access/easy is a dramatic departure from yesterday's frustrating encounters.

As someone who has been an "early adopter" at my institution for a lot of e-learning technologies & strategies for engaging online users, I am familiar with hitting sangs & glitches. I think we need to teach our learners how to deal with frustrations & be creative problem solvers rather than always striving for a perfect experience. Life doesn't work like that.

I was delighted & surprised with the overwhelming response to this Summer Camp idea. I look forward to learning about what my peers are doing and to see the creative strategies being experimented with on a wiki.

Hey there. I am also getting nowhere in my attempt to add my name. I logged in and created yet another log in today but there is no edit tab on the page where I would add my name. Perhaps I need an invitation or access needs to be granted. I did receive two emails from you so I thought I was added. Thanks for your help.

I think that Krissy and crew have been doing an amazing job supporting all of us as we venture forward into uncharted territory. I too have experienced similar situations in registering, but Krissy et al. have been very supportive and encouraging. PATIENCE, young grasshopper . . .

When I attempt to do week 1 homework, it will not allow me to create a new page. It says create a page, but it is not linked for me to click. Suggestions??
