Student access help
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?HI BD- Just go to "Settings" and click "Users." You can add your students here by entering in their email address, choosing their access level, and clicking "Add." Then we'll send your students an email asking them to create a PBwiki Account, and they'll be able to access your wiki.
Hope this helps :)

Inappropriate? It's unrealistic to think that I'm going to or should have to add 200 students' email addresses to your users' page.
Please, consider the real world use cases of educators. We can't be in a position where we have to micromanage student user accounts.
* I need to be able to publish the password on my syllabus for all students to have instant access to the course wiki, or I can't use it.
* I need to be able to setup a wiki on the fly and allow students immediate access during the first class. Otherwise, PBWiki looks clunky to the people I'm demoing it to and is unusable in a real classroom setting.

Inappropriate?Hi Wil, I agree- and we're working on a much better system for educators in PBwiki 2.0. In the meantime, would it work to use PBwiki 1.0?
-
Inappropriate?Rachel, I agree with the educators who have already posted. I have 2 wiki's under the PBwiki 1.0 that use an invite key -- works great! PBwiki 2.0 has a great look and seems like it might be easier for students to navigate, but I'm not going to be able to use it if I have to enter 100 student email addresses.
Now that I've set up a new wiki today (as PB 2.0), can I convert it to PBwiki 1.0? Or will I lose my wiki name (thinkgloballyactlocally)?
What I'd like most: PBwiki 2.0 uses invite keys.
What I can live with: The wiki I just set up can be changed to PBwiki 1.0
What would make me stop using PBwiki: PBwiki 2.0 doesn't use invite keys and PBwiki 1.0 is no longer supported.
Thanks! Ann

Hi Ann,
Can I have you email support(at)pbwki(dot)com? We can discuss some options. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Ann brings up some great issues. As I mentioned above, we're working on a better solution for teachers in PBwiki 2.0 I think you all are going to love it.
In the meantime, we will continue to support PBwiki 1.0!
