Using Wiki Software for a Knowledge Base
At this time currently using http://kbpublisher.sourceforge.net/ but it has been taken closed-source commercial paid software, and only supported by 1 developer.
We're using it for knowledge base features, which at this time pbwiki , tikiwiki, mediawiki, socialtext, Google Sites, etc do not have.
Anyone know of a project to incorporate knowledge base functionality into a wiki?

Inappropriate? We have quite a few corporate clients that use PBwiki as a knowledge base. Can you be specific about what functionality you are looking for?

Inappropriate?Cool. Sorry I wasn't specific about the exact features.
Yes, it can be used as a "knowledge base" that is manually created.
However there is yet another niche software category dominated by licensed software, known as "knowledge base" software, with examples being kbpublisher, Kayako Supportsite, Talisma Knowledgebase, etc.
You can see Talisma in action at http://kb.adtran.com/ and Kbpublisher 2.0 (not latest version) at http://pontus.megapath.net/kb/.
It supports all the WYSYWIG goodness of a wiki, plus the following:
-automatically creates index pages of all the categories you create
-automatically updates the index page with any new category you create
-organizes everything by 'categories' and articles / answers.
-When you create an article in a category, it automatically adds that article to the category's page listing articles, as well as makes it searchable through SQL indexing
-Looks pretty without a human having to create any links whatsoever, or build any main pages.
-Does not require any intervention to update the main page when you add an article, as it is automatically linked. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the detail. I am actually very familiar with self-help/knowledgebase software.
PBwiki is actually in discussions with a self-help/knowledgebase software company about the integration of our two product offerings.
This will be licensed software though.
Just so you are aware, PBwiki is licensed software as well. For business use, there is no free version for more than 3 users.

Inappropriate?Right, PBwiki is commercial as well. What I was referring to was physically installed and hosted commercial software, as opposed to PBWiki which is SaaS
