Where's the Classic Mode in the editor?
It's simple, the WYSIWYG editor is nothing for me. I prefer to write down wiki markup, it messes with keyboard shortcuts, and it copies styles when 99% of the time I *don't* want that, etc.
So, where is the Classic mode?

Inappropriate?I've only now found this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/pbwiki/top...
But that was months ago. The editor is still made for HTML, not for wiki's. It's flawed. I like to write wiki markup on a wiki — tell me that doesn't make sense?

Inappropriate?Hey there Lensco,
Wiki markup in 2.0 is something we're going to be working on soon, but I don't have an ETA.
Thanks for your patience! -
Inappropriate?if you read to the bottom of the thread, there is a link to another thread that will allow you to have a classic editor in your 2.0 wiki:

hope it is useful for you -
Inappropriate?Tim, I read that, but it's only for paid accounts where you can edit templates, right? Not for free accounts...
-
Inappropriate?Lensco,
Tim's workarounds don't use templates at all as far as I can see, just Google Gadgets. -
Inappropriate?Okay, maybe the term 'templates' was wrong, but he's talking about 'edits to your wiki'. Isn't he referring to a paid feature there? I can't edit anything other than my own pages.
-
Inappropriate? As far as I can tell from Tim's post, these are bits of code that you put on pages named SideBar, editor and newpage.

Inappropriate? We can no longer access the wiki markup code (is there still an underlying markup code) and we've lost a lot of the wiki features (automatic linking on Capitalized words, easy bulleting,...)
While I see having an HTML editor as plus for enlarging the audience, I see a lot of the missing features as a significant step back for power users (which still produce a good portion of the content). Productivity has significantly dropped for these power users because of the loss of markup coding.
