We actually have in the product roadmap the ability to create, manage, and deny access to large blocks of users.
The exact mechanism of this is still being developed by in coming months you should hear about it at PBwiki.

Inappropriate? It is possible to include it in 2.0, but they are concerned that spammers will use this feature to, well, spam. I'm not sure why that wasn't a concern in 1.0, but apparently it wasn't.
Here's an idea. Create a new 1.0 wiki, whose FrontPage has an introduction to the 2.0 wiki, and has links to the 2.0 wiki. You can then use the 1.0 wiki to generate the emails to your invitees, and the FrontPage of the 1.0 wiki will explain the situation, and direct them to the 2.0 wiki. I know it sounds like a kludge, but it will let you get the job done until such time as they finish ironing out the kinks in 2.0. -

Inappropriate?Sorry but this is a "kludge" or even worse a "no-no". From a corporate communications perspective it looks bad on a couple of levels. One the templates don't look the same; two it looks odd and anything that looks odd scares the hell out of users. As a moderator I get it all the time. And then to say we are trialling a new version makes it looks even scarier. "So these guys are trialling technology with me, a user" - this is not good. Why is it not possible to simply rectify the problem from your end. ie add what you had and that functioned perfectly and that there is a need for into version 2.0 right now..
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? What is happening here is the old Microsoft trick...get the users to work out the bugs and take the consequences...come on folks, PBWIKI is a great product and better than that!!
I’m sad

Inappropriate? My apologies. I am not an employee or representative of PBwiki; I'm just trying to help you accomplish your goals. You are free to wait until PBwiki gets around to it.
I’m just trying to help here.

Inappropriate?Hi Guy,
Gee please accept MY apologies...very bad form of me. Your hint was really useful in finding a workable solution straight away..and yes, I did jump to a very incorrect assumption..I assumed you worked for PBWIKI....we need people like you here!!! Thanks so much.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?No problem. :)
You can always check the PBwiki Home page at GS for an up-to-date list of employees; posts by those folks have an "official representative" icon on the right-hand side of their posts. I know it seems like I'm an employee due to the frequency (and quality) of my posts, but I can assure you they have no desire to employ someone like me.
I’m tellin' it like it is

Inappropriate?Hi,
The personalized email thing is something that CEO David Weekly has mentioned in this thread as something he is aware of and that PBwiki needs to fix.
The other issue, as TK has described, is something that is being worked on. I'm looking forward to the solution just like everyone else is. :-)
