Bottom of pages not appearing when viewed
Hi,
Just updated, and liking the new PBwiki. But some of my pages are appearing blank when viewed - the text is there when you go in to edit them (or if you view the page with the sidebar minimized), but a random chunk of page at the bottom is simply absent.
It looks like more of an imaging problem than something textual; the cut-off point is sometimes halfway down a line, leaving half-letters behind (as in the picture).
I realise that's probably not very helpful, but I'm not a technical person. If there's any information I can give you which might help solve the puzzle, let me know.
Cheers!

Inappropriate? Thanks for the screen shot. Can you tell me if this is a public page that we can see from a link that you post here?
I have seen this happen before. It would usually occur because of an error in the "Source" code in the content you've added. Sometimes it happens if you paste from a Word Processor or a Web Page from somewhere else on the net. I've never seen it happen when you simply type stuff into a page, but I won't say it's not possible.
If you do know a little HTML, you might find a missing < /div > tag or something similar.
The easiest way to fix it is to copy what you want from the page, then delete the page and try pasting it back into a new page with the same name.
I’m happy to help

Inappropriate?Yeah, I've had a trawl through the source code and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary - but then I'm hardly an expert, like I said. No orphaned divs, however.
This particular example is at
http://risingsuns.pbwiki.com/Running+...
...which is unfortunately not a public page. Can you PBwiki people not access them anyway?
Oddly, I've spoken to some of the wiki's other users and they're not having the same problem. Which would seem to imply it might be something to do with my browser? So much for Firefox3...
Additionally, when you maximise the viewing space so it takes up the whole width of the page, that seems to make the invisible text viewable again... but not consistently.
Odd. -
Inappropriate?Having spoken to someone a little more web-savvy than myself, they suggested that PBWiki was having issue loading up the longer pages on the wiki and timing out without displaying the whole page.
This seems to hold true - I experimented and trimmed the page length dome somwhat, and that vanquished the gremlins. -
Inappropriate?I know that at least Firefox has an issue with pages longer than 32,000 pixels (I think we worked that out to around 37 feet - yowza!).
It doesn't display any content past that point, although the background of the page will continue.
I'm not sure if other browsers have the exact same limitations, but I'm sure they get cranky in one way or another.
I'm glad you were able to move your content around so you can see it all.

Inappropriate?Yeah, I guess that'd be it then.
Oh well, at least it's incentive to keep the chapters brief.
Thanks very much!
