Inappropriate? There is a way to do this, and I was planning on being all helpful and telling you how... but it turns out I don't remember. Sorry.
I know that it's possible because I have www.WikiFOIA.pbwiki.com set up to default to the SideBar upon loading, but I'm not cool enough to remember how I did it, and the original tip that I followed was in the old forums, where I can no longer find anything.
I’m feeling a little forgetful...

Inappropriate?Make SideBar default tab. No widget library needed. Put this code at the bottom of your SideBar:
<script type="text/javascript">showSidebar('sb_sb');</script>

Inappropriate?I just went to your wiki and it opened for me on QuickStart. I'm not trying to be petty or anything (promise! :) ), but there may have been some code pushed out since you put that in that made it not work anymore.

Inappropriate?Huh, it always opens for me on the Sidebar. Well, it starts at QuickStart, but once the page finishes loading it flips to SideBar.
Well whatever, I added your script vangispen, maybe it will work for everyone else now too. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Your sidebar always works for me, as well. Perhaps she is using an odd browser...

Inappropriate? As far as I understand this issue, a visitor's last selected tab is stored in a cookie, maybe that's why your visits defaulted to the sidebar tab. However, for new visitors it defaults to quickstart tab. Hence the question, I presume.
